Singer Chris Brown is investing in one of the hottest markets in entertainment, NFT's, and is showcasing the first digital art he has recently acquired.

The 'Go Crazy' singer shared the images on Instagram, along with a message that he is excited to venture into this space and is working with a company on upcoming pieces of art.

"Just bought my MY FIRST NFT, Excited to be getting into the NFT space," Chris posted on IG. The message was alongside a digital art piece showing a cartoon-type character handing out of a car with a handgun -- and a ski mask on. He continued, "This is some of the dopest artwork I’ve seen! Launching this Thursday be sure to get yours before they sell out ????."

Chris says he is working with a company called, Meta Thugs, whose website says it is "a private collection of 10 000 limited edition NFTs—unique digital collectibles. The thugs are stored as ERC-721 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain." Adding, "Our goal is to make Meta Thugs the highest rewarding NFT community for holders."

The jump into NFT makes sense for Chris Brown, who has always mixed his successful music career with his art. The singer's multiple homes feature one-of-a-kind pieces of art -- created with his own hands -- on the exterior and interior of his properties. Also, for companies looking for a celebrity endorsement in the digital art world, Chris is a smart bet.

At this point, it's unclear if Chris is just working with this company as an endorsement, or if he is heavily investing his own money in their company and art.

If you are new to the NFT market, it stands for "Non-fungible token," and is essentially the new frontier of the art world. Many believe it could replicate many of the traditional art collector/creator relationships -- where people can buy and support their favorite artists.

It should be noted, the point of an NFT is to give you something that can't be copied. The token lives on a blockchain where you can purchase the rights to the digital piece of art. Yes, copies of the image can be made -- and shared -- but the original version is only owned by one entity. Think of it like someone can purchase a print of a Monet painting, but only one person or museum house the "original."

If it seems a bit scary, it is.

A-list celebrities are jumping on the bandwagon of purchasing and creating NFT's and it is a hugely rising business. As we reported, Post Malone recently dropped almost $1 Million on two non-fungible tokens from one of the biggest collections, 'Bored Ape Yacht Club.'

The rapper purchased #961 and #9039 for a told combined of 160 ETH. At the current market, the total purchased was $734,401.60 for two pieces of digital media.

BTW, Snoop Dogg, Jimmy Fallon, and Lil' Baby are among others who have shelled out huge money to buy images from the same collection.

In other words, you might want to listen to Chris Brown on this one!
