“Star Wars” actor Adam Driver has starred in some interesting films throughout 2021.
Earlier this year, Driver starred in “Annette,” which features the love story between a stand-up comedian (Driver) and his opera singer wife. The Leos Carax-directed film became a viral sensation when it featured a scene involving Driver performing a sexual act while mid-song. In Ridley Scott’s 2021 drama “The Last Duel,” he plays a squire that forces himself on the wife of his friend.
Although Driver has done some pretty raunchy things in the HBO comedy series “Girls,” it seems he stepped it up a notch when he was working with Lady Gaga when he collaborated with Scott again for 2021’s “House of Gucci.”
Adam Driver Teases That He And Lady Gaga ‘Were Feeling It’
At the New York premiere of the film on Tuesday night, Driver spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the primal scene.
Driver explains that Gaga’s character of Patrizia “very much uses sex as a tool, and I feel like it kind of physically embodies what’s going on between them.”
He explains that although the character of Maurizio isn’t “necessarily emotionally vapid,” his life is not “passionate, and that’s what she brought.” He went on to say that they only ran the scene once or twice, as they “blocked it out as we would any fight or any scene.”
Although there is definitely some fighting as the relationship dissolved, Driver couldn’t help but shed some light on the “animalistic noises” that are pervasive throughout the encounter.
“We were feeling it, so to speak!” Driver explained with a laugh. “Everything I say sounds like a double entendre, but we winged it.”
He further added that he and Gaga “had been shooting for a month, so we felt comfortable to go where we needed to go.”
The Scene Has Been Dubbed ‘One Of The Best Sex Scenes I’ve Seen’
As The Blast previously reported, Gaga and Driver couldn’t help but share a fist bump on the “Graham Norton Show” last week when they received some high praise from host Graham Norton himself. He described the “clever sex scene” as “one of the best sex scenes I’ve seen in forever.”
After asking who put that scene together, Gaga joked, “We had nothing to do with it.”
After attempting to change the topic, Norton said, “And, of course, it’s not just you in it. Other screen legends, Jeremy Irons-”
“-in the sex scene?” Gaga blurted out.
Norton joked, “Jeremy was particularly good. He was great.”
Driver couldn’t help but get in on the humor, joking, “He was behind the camera.”
The film, which also stars Salma Hayek, Jared Leto, and Al Pacino, is set to make its debut in theaters on Wednesday, November 24.
