Jessica Simpson is trying to keep busy while staying at home during the shutdown, and like many, she’s trying out her skills in the kitchen by whipping up some of her mom’s famous 7-layer dip!
The fashion mogul showed off her attempt over the weekend and proudly displayed a dish full of the popular appetizer. Standing in her kitchen, Simpson explained to fans:
“7 layer dip…well really 6 layer dip. Ha (Tired mom trying filters ?)”
Even though she wanted the focus to be on the dip, fans could not get over Simpson’s cozy looking outfit.
7-layer dip is one of those appetizers that is left up to interpretation, but usually comprises layers of fresh salsa, refried beans, guacamole, cheddar cheese and olives. Admitting she left off one of the layers, it’s unclear if Simpson omitted one of the classic ingredients or just opted for one less layer.
However, fans were more obsessed with her relaxed look. Simpson was wearing a matching sweatshirt and pants with her hair tied up and complimented the look with purple fuzzy slippers.
“Where can I get that lounge wear!?!?!” one fan begged.
Simpson gave a shoutout to the brand, The Great, and even tagged them in the shot for other fans to shop the look.
Jessica Simpson is always willing to share her life with fans, and they let her know how she is helping them get through the worldwide quarantine as everyone tries to contain the outbreak of COVID-19.
“Im reading your book now. Love it❤️ it’s helping me to get through this quarantine!” one fan wrote to the star.
Simpson’s memoir, “Open Book,” hit #1 on the NY Times Bestseller list, and she has toured the country meetings fans and doing book signings. She also recently released the audio version and thanked fans after it received rave reviews.
“Every one of the comments I have read from y’all about the audiobook have moved me to tears because it is true, I am your friend,” Simpson wrote on Instagram.
As many are looking for answers during this uncertain time, Simpson recently shared her secret for finding strength and keeping her sanity.
“I know people are struggling with fear, anxiety, and also with sorrowful loss. My faith in God, knowing that with him all things are possible, has been my strength when I feel overwhelmed,” she wrote on Instagram.
She continued on the power of prayer:
“After weeks of quarantine, I have found my quiet place. I urge everyone to cause yourself to let go, be silent with listening ears toward God … I humbly ask that you join me in praying for the leaders around the world including our president, governors, mayors, politicians, scientists, doctors, and all healthcare workers. Prayer is not political. Prayer is necessary.”
