Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s long-questioned relationship is still a hot topic of discussion.
It’s been three years since “A Star Is Born” hit theaters, and their relationship off-screen is still being questioned.
In the remake, Gaga plays Ally while Cooper plays Jackson Maine. They are both musicians who fall in love and live a tumultuous yet passionate life together.
Once the cameras stopped rolling, Cooper and Gaga seemed to continue to play the roles of their characters in real life.
This was especially true at the 2019 Oscars where they performed “Shallow” together in front of millions.
There was no denying their chemistry and it really set pulses races and minds wandering.
Bradley & Gaga's relationship is still a hot topic of discussion
At the time of the 2019 Oscars both Cooper and Gaga were in serious relationships with other people, but many claimed they were entangled in one together.
Now, Cooper is setting the record straight about the romance between he and the singer.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the ‘Hangover’ star spoke about their passionate Oscars performance.
The actor stood strong in his stance that the performance was just an act. He told THR he and Gaga were most definitely acting.
Their "love" was all a charade!
For those questioning why the performance looked so steamy, Bradley has an answer for that as well.
"He [Bradley] had conceived the performance to unfold like a scene from the movie in part to help manage his own fears about singing live," according to the outlet.
Cooper noted that it reduced anxiety levels, and it was based around the scene where their characters actually fall in love in the movie.
"They kind of fall in love in that scene in the film. It's that explosive moment that happens to them on a stage in front of thousands of people…It would have been so weird if we were both on stools facing the audience,” Cooper said.
Gaga echoed these same sentiments back in 2019 when the romance rumors were running rampant.
"Yes, people saw love and—guess what—that's what we wanted you to see," the 35-year-old singer told Jimmy Kimmel that year.
She also said, “I’m an artist and I guess we did a good job, and fooled ya!”
Gaga & Bradley fooled everyone!
She explained her co-star had planned out the entire concert in extreme detail: "I knew that he had the vision for how it should go."
Gaga told Elle in November 2019, “Quite frankly, I think the press is very silly. I mean, we made a love story. For me, as a performer and as an actress, of course we wanted people to believe that we were in love.”
The same year the romance rumors were circulating, both Cooper and Gaga broke up with their significant others.
However, Cooper and his ex-girlfriend, Irina Shayk, have a daughter together, so they’ve continued to co-parent together.
The supermodel and actor were just seen in New York City on Monday, November 15, walking arm-in-arm.
It’s unclear if the two are headed toward a reconciliation or if they’re just amazing co-parents and friends.
Earlier this year, Shayk was in a short-lived relationship with rapper Kanye West. The two were spotted in France celebrating the rapper’s 44th birthday.
It ended just as quickly as it started.
