Singer Pink Donates $1 Million To COVID-19 Relief After Recovering From Virus

Singer Pink is yet another celebrity that has been diagnosed positive with the COVID-19 virus, but she's been recovering and giving back to help with relief efforts.

The Just Give Me A Reason singer shared through Twitter on Friday that she and her 3-year-old son Jameson Moon Hart tested positive for corona two weeks ago and have recovered since then. However, thankfully, Husband Cary Hart and 8-year-old daughter Willow Sage Hart do not seem to show signs of having the virus.

Pink Now Tested Negative For COVID-19

The Grammy Award winner revealed that she was showing symptoms of the virus and then found out that she tested positive for the virus. But, fortunately she has made recoveries and has tested negative for the virus: “Two weeks ago my three-year old son, Jameson, and I are were showing symptoms of COVID-19. Fortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive. My family was already sheltering at home and continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor. Just a few days ago we were re-tested and are now thankfully negative,” she said.

Pink Criticizes The Government For Lack Of Testing

The pop star called the United States government not having tests more widely available a “failure” and voiced her distress, “It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible. This illness is serious and real. People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities.”

Pink Donates $1 Million To Coronavirus Relief Efforts

Pink announced that she would split a $1M donation to relief efforts specifically to Philadelphia and Los Angeles, two cities she considers home:

“In an effort to support the healthcare professionals who are battling on the frontlines every day, I am donating $500,000 to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia in honor of my mother, Judy Moore, who worked there for 18 years in the Cardiomyopathy and Heart Transplant Center. Additionally, I am donating $500,000 to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund.”

Pink Thanks Healthcare Professionals Amid Coronavirus Pandemnic

Pink has been one of many celebrities that have been lending their voice and their finances to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. The 40-year-old ended with a heartfelt message to the many healthcare professionals that have been serving our country on the front line during this crisis:

“THANK YOU to all of our healthcare professionals and everyone in the world who are working so hard to protect our loved ones. You are our heroes! These next two weeks are crucial: please stay home. Please. Stay. Home.”
