Taylor Swift's ten-minute short film ‘All Too Well’ dropped on November 12 and gossip is already swirling!
The re-release of the album ‘Red’ has gathered mixed responses from fans. However, one person in particular fears being targeted in the ten-minute short film.
Did Taylor Target Jake?
Taylor has the reputation of composing songs that are often the direct portrayal of her past relationships and the experiences surrounding them.
Often the release of Swift's songs is followed by public anticipation and backlash from the fans of other parties, who are supposedly the ‘target’ of her heartbreaking songs.
Fans speculate that the lyrics in Taylor’s ‘All Too Well’ are about the Spider-Man star Jake Gyllenhaal. What further adds to the speculation is that Taylor has neither accepted nor denied the assumptions.
The lyrics “I’ll get older, but your lovers will stay my age” have garnered reactions from fans and the Spider-Man star. A source told Life and Style “Jake is scared that he has been targeted in All Too Well.”
Other lyrics that go “You said if we had been closer in age maybe it would have been fine / and that made me want to die,” make fans further feel that the song is an indirect take at Jake’s short-lived romantic relationship with Taylor that sparked controversy some eleven years ago.
No Drama Needed
Jake and Taylor had a three-month fling back in their time. Now that they have both moved on in their lives, Jake’s well-wishers feel it’s unfair to swirl him in all the drama.
A source told Life and Style “Jake is a private person and wishes to stay out of the drama. It is a hard pill for him to swallow now that he is being included in things that holds no significance today whatsoever.”
The source also said that Jake Gyllenhaal is not interested in being "questioned about someone he briefly dated 11 years ago."
"There's no escaping the past for anyone who has dated Taylor Swift", a source tells the New York Daily News.
Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly has ‘no interest in the album' and is keeping out of anything that may trigger things from the past to influence the things in the present.
Swifties Have Her Back
Taylor has a massive fan base; for every one person that would always criticize Taylor’s composition, there are three people that back up her unique songwriting skills. This is one of the reasons why the ‘Willow’ singer has been able to sing songs despite all the resistance.
Taylor has also been in the spotlight for always writing songs about her ex-lovers. However, several times have fans pointed out that male singers do the same, they are just not trolled for it.
With over 185 million followers on Instagram, Taylor is the best example of how anybody has complete freedom for putting into words what their heart wishes to put out in the open.
