Kaia Gerber clocked herself over 131,000 likes in under 40 minutes on Saturday as she took to Instagram to dazzle her 5.4 million followers. The 18-year-old model and daughter to Cindy Crawford has mostly been making headlines this past week for announcing an Instagram Book Club as millions lead new lives from home – while COVID-19 has seen the brunette raise eyebrows for her “fair share of social interaction” during outings with her famous friends, little – if any – backlash manifested to this photo.
Kaia’s post today appeared to give a giant nod to quarantine as the stunner took to her caption saying:
“Almost forgot about jeans.”
The simple selfie showed Kaia in her bedroom and with natural daylight pouring over her as she posed in a skimpy, powder-blue, and spaghetti-strap top. Naturally, the denims mentioned in Kaia’s caption were seen as she rocked a pair of jeans, also delivering her fierce beauty via a direct and piercing gaze. The new face of Louis Vuitton rocked her signature bob worn down and lighter than the usual, chocolate-brown shade. Slightly parted lips and bronzed features completed the candid vibe.
Feedback to Kaia’s update was immediate. A comment quickly came in from actress Zelda Williams.
“Don’t go back to the non-stretchy darkside yet! We have so far to go and so many more chairs to comfortably sit in!” she wrote.
“You’re an angel,” a fan wrote.
Meanwhile, other users – clearly in quarantine – appeared to have spotted the caption.
“Lol I forgot already,” one user wrote.
Celebrity likes also quickly came in from “Wonder Woman” actress Gal Gadot, supermodel Emily Ratajkowski, singer Madison Beer, plus artist Tinashe and “High School Musical ” star Ashley Tisdale.
“I didn’t want my modelling to be overshadowed by being a celebrity, or being some personality,” she said, adding:
“And also, what can you ask a 16-year-old girl? I didn’t have anything to say two years ago. I had no experience. There’s only so many times I can talk about my beauty routine, or the advice I got from my mom about modeling. It’s boring. I want to do what models do, and that’s modeling.”
More recently, Kaia has made headlines for starting an Instagram Book Club. Choosing Irish novelist Sally Rooney’s best-selling “Normal People” to kick the group off, Kaia also promised more to come.
“Every week I’m gonna post a book to my stories and the following week I’ll jump on [Instagram Live]—sometimes with a friend, writer, [or] guest—so we can all talk about the book,” she wrote, continuing:
“Make sure to set yourself a reminder: The first conversation will be taking place this Friday at 5 p.m. PST.”
