News broke on Friday evening that Logan Williams, an actor from the television series “The Flash” “Supernatural” and more, passed away at the age of 16 on Thursday amid an international lockdown due to a viral outbreak.
Williams played the younger version of Barry Allen on the CW hit TV show. The part is played by Grant Gustin, and the pair worked together on more than one occasion, and Gustin had all good things to say about Williams and his performance on set.
While Williams’ cause of death has yet to be released to the press, the impact of his passing sent shockwaves through some of his co-stars.
Gustin was one of those to voice his sorrow, sharing a photo of himself with Williams and Jesse L. Martin taken during the 2014 pilot episode.
“I was so impressed by not only Logan’s talent but his professionalism on set,” Gustin wrote. “My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family during what is I’m sure an unimaginably difficult time for them.”
“Please keep Logan and his family in your thoughts and prayers during what has been a strange and trying time for us all,” Gustin said in his Instagram post. “Sending love to everyone.”
Gustin appeared to be referencing the international concern over the COVID-19, or Coronavirus, outbreak. The United States, along with Canada and many nations across the globe, have been put on lockdown and aren’t allowing citizens to go to non-essential businesses or socialize in groups outside those they live with.
Marlyse Williams, Logan’s Mother, told reporters at the Tri-City News that she is “absolutely devastated” at the loss of her teenaged son.
To add insult to her incredibley difficult injury, the grieving mother isn’t allowed to gather with her family to mourn the loss of her son, thanks to the coronavirus outbreak.
“I am not able to hug my parents who lost their only grandchild,” Williams continued. “It’s hard. With his talent and gorgeous looks, Logan had the potential to be a huge star.”
Williams began acting at the age of 10 after his first audition, where he landed the role of Jack Spehn in a Hallmark move “color of Rain.”
In addition to “The Flash” where he played the part of Young Barry from 2014-2016, Williams also played Max Johnson in “Supernatural” in 2015 and was Miles Montgomery in the series “When Calls The Heart” between 2014 and 2016. Williams also played a Young Eliot in ABC’s “The Whispers” in 2015.
Along with acting, Williams played soccer and guitar and was called “gentle and very loving and very kind soul” by friends according to Tri City News.
The young actor is survived by his mother, father Clive, grandparents and aunts and uncles.
