They are known for a slightly unorthodox approach to their marriage, and spent over a year living in separate houses before finally moving in together.

Despite being super famous and glamorous, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk are staying at home during the coronavirus pandemic just like the rest of the world. And, with that, some interesting issues can come up in home life and marriage.

The couple recently spoke about this with intimacy expert (is that really a thing?) Michaela Boehm in a video published to Goop.

They talked about how difficult it is living with teenagers right now, while still trying to find time for romance.

Gwyneth said, “We’re lucky that we have a really solid relationship, but we’re also in the house with the kids and it’s pretty close quarters."

She also explained that they're all having a hard time not being able to socialize, especially her daughter. She said, “I think we all feel, especially my teenagers right now are really feeling very pendent, especially [my daughter] Apple, who’s a very social creature.”

An Intimacy Expert Gave Them Some Advice

Boehm had some advice for the couple about finding time together that doesn't involve the other people, including kids, even if you're in the house. She advised, “You have to have areas of engagement that have timeframes attached to them. Certain dimensions of one’s life are not being mixed together all the time, because that kills everything."

She also said, "It’s fine to take an hour or two that doesn’t involve anyone else in the household” if you need to."

Gwyneth candidly asked her what someone should do if they aren't feeling that into sex lately, and not 'feeling sexual."

The Couple Lived Apart For The First Year Of Their Marriage

She replied, saying women's bodies go “into the survival mode” during stressful times which doesn't lead to "so much pleasure.”

Back before they were living together, Gwyneth did an interview with The Sunday Times in which she revealed the situation, with many claiming they have the ideal marriage.

Gwyneth said, “All my married friends say that the way we live sounds ideal and we shouldn't change a thing."

However, by the end of 2019, the duo moved in together, or as Gwyneth puts it in only a way she could, they "merged."

Gwyneth Later Claimed They Were Now "Merged"

She explained the reasoning for the long delay to Jimmy Kimmel, saying "I think because we each have two teenage children, whom we love very much, we were just trying to be mindful and give them a little space and not move too quickly," she said. "Now we're merged and it's great."

Well, now that the coronavirus pandemic has hit and we're all quarantined in our houses, Gwyneth and Brad may be rethinking their "merged" living arrangement.

Here's hoping they survive; perhaps Brad kept his other residence just in case?
