Amid the panic and anxiety surrounding the global pandemic, the hospital has been something many Americans are trying to avoid at this time. Chances are, unless what’s being experienced is a dire emergency, most people are taking their stay at home/shelter in place orders very seriously.
Such was the case with rapper Cardi B until things took a turn earlier this week and the 27-year-old artist had to be admitted to the emergency room. Cardi B took to Twitter to share her experience on Wednesday (April 1).
No, it wasn’t coronavirus symptoms. Instead, the rapper revealed on social media that she had been hospitalized on March 31 following four days of persistent “stomach problems”.
The tweet has since been deleted, but in the intial post, Cardi B captured a photo of her wrist with her hospital bracelet. In case there was any doubt that her word about being admitted to the ER was golden, the bracelet did include her birth date as well as the intake date could be seen.
The tweet that published with the photo read, “Honestly, cause I been having some real bad stomach problems for four days, I went to the ER last night. I am feeling way better, Hopefully tomorrow I will feel no more pain.”
The “Clout” rapper didn’t reveal much else but some fans did express worry for her and her health. The healthcare facilities of some states are very overwhelmed and there is some wonder of if Cardi might have come into contact with the novel coronavirus while in the emergency room with others experiencing symptoms.
With the coronavirus track Cardi was featured on climbing the charts, Cardi is currently the meme heard around the world. However, that hasn’t stopped the “Bodak Yellow” rapper from feeling fearful of getting sick, just like the rest of us.
“Government, let me tell y’all mother fers something. I don’t know what the f this coronavirus is about,” she stated in a recently shared video. “I don’t understand how this s was from Wuhan, China, now all of the sudden this s is on mother f***ing tour.”
The mother-of-one continued, “And let me tell y’all something, I ain’t even gonna front. A bh is scared. I’m a little scared. You know what I’m saying? Like, s got me panicking.”
If anything, her coronavirus confession only proved she’s human like the rest of us. And despite being rich and famous, she has real fears surrounding COVID-19 too. Still, Cardi has done her best to maintain a positive outlook. She shared a Donald Duck meme that said, “When you’re hungry but all the food in the house needs to be cooked.”
Get well soon Cardi, okurrrr!
