Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are among the most scrutinized people on the planet. Even now that they've left the royal family, they're still the subject of a great deal of press attention. Now that they're reportedly focused on raising their family, some are curious about where they stand on a variety of issues, including alcohol consumption.

Prior to her pregnancy, Meghan was honest about the fact that she enjoyed a nice glass of wine at the end of a long day.

When she got pregnant with Archie, though, Meghan reportedly gave up all alcohol and caffeine, and insisted that Prince Harry do the same. Harry obliged, offering a bit of solidarity with his wife.

“Considering he’s been a pretty brutal drinker since he was a young teenager, it’s quite an achievement,” an insider told Express about the move at the time. In the time since Archie was born, though, the restrictions on Harry's alcohol consumption seem to have loosened at least a little.

Now that Archie's been born, it seems that the restrictions around alcohol are laxer. Still, the priority for Meghan has always been her overall health and the health of her child, so it's unlikely that she and Harry are frequently drinking in excess.

Like with most things, the name of the game is likely moderation. When it comes to her diet, Meghan has made it clear that while she loves food, she tries to strike a healthy balance in her meal planning.

The same is likely true for alcohol, which would make her just one of many members of the royal family who drink on occasion.

That alcohol may be more important than ever now that Harry and Meghan are self isolating just like the rest of the world. Recent reporting suggests that Meghan has taken the threat of the coronavirus very seriously. In fact, she actually instituted several new guidelines after Harry's father, Prince Charles, announced that he had tested positive.

"Meghan said hearing the news of Prince Charles has put everyone on edge," a source told The Daily Mail. "She said she is worried about her own health and Harry's health because she doesn't want to pass anything onto Archie."

The source also explained Meghan's quarantine guidelines. "All produce must be washed with soap and water, and absolutely no boxes are to be brought inside the house," the source said. "Whatever they order is opened outside, wiped down and then brought into the main quarters. Also staff members who have been out and about running errands are to wear face masks at all times."
