While the ongoing pandemic is scaring everyone in the word, some selected families are more concerned about their family members who are incarcerated. Recently, the popular rapper known as Tekashi 6ix9ine with the help of his legal team, submitted a petitioned that he be released to observe the isolation procedure.

With the rate at which people are contacting the virus, the prison might no longer be a safe haven as officers go in and out of the place and also interact with inmates on a daily basis.

There are several celebrities who are in prison at the moment, but unlike them, 6ix9ine might actually have a shot at going home during this period. However, if this will happen, there are a lot of things that needs to be considered. While we leave the court to ponder on whether to release the rapper or not, let’s find out what he did to put him there in the first place.

In those days, living the gang became the ‘it’ thing for many rappers who strove to get their songs out.

The young rapper has been in Federal prison for the past 17 years for some gang related crimes. In November 2018, 6ix9ine was arrested after he pleaded guilty to some crimes committed by Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. Some of the crimes committed by the gang include; firearms charges, narcotics trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and so on.

The legal team in charge of 6ix9ine‘s case submitted a motion to the court stating that the rapper’s asthma problem puts him in great danger of contacting the virus, which could have disastrous repercussions.

The judge, Paul Engelmayer, who presided over the case mentioned that he had no authority to pull 6ix9ine out of prison, but he could understand the situation at hand. He also showed his support for the motion filed by Lazzaro.

Before Engelmayer’s attention was brought to the case, Lazzaro’s first filing was denied as his client is not serving his prison sentence in a Bureau if Prisons facility. However, now that the report has been filed again and Engelmayer is in support, things may actually turn out well for the actor.

Speaking to Rolling Stone recently, the attorney mentioned that if his client‘s motion is granted, he would likely be released immediately.

Before his arrest, 6ix9ine was robbed and abducted from his home by members of his supposed gang in Brooklyn and for cooperating with the Feds, he got a lesser sentence. Now that it’s remaining four months for his sentencing to be complete, it is unclear if the spurt will allow him to live out the rest of the sentence at home. However, fingers are crossed on this one and a lot of fans are expecting good news on his case.
