Ashton Kutcher has made a name in Hollywood and the entertainment industry for his remarkable production and acting skills. He is popularly known for his breakout role as one of the male leads, Michael Kelso, on Fox Network's "That '70s Show," released in 1998.

In 2013, Kutcher was cast as Steve Jobs in the film titled "Jobs." To make his acting as realistic as he could, he decided to bury himself in the life of the tech leader and understand how his life functions. An example was his decision to change to Jobs' fruitarian diet a few months before filming, which landed the actor in the Emergency Room twice.

Kunis On How Kutcher's Health Was Affected

A handful of celebrity couples prefer to keep their relationships and family lives private to some extent, and Kutcher and Kunis are on this list. However, once in a while, they reveal a little bit of information to their lovely fans.

Fans were aware that Kutcher's fruit-only diet during his preparation for his role as Jobs resulted in a couple of emergency visits to the hospital. Kunis, however, said in a recent chat with Hot One's host, Sean Evans, that Kutcher "downplayed" the situation.

She explained how lightly her husband took his health and criticized his decision. "He was so dumb. He only ate grapes at one point, it was so stupid," she said to Evans, according to People.

"We ended up in the hospital twice with pancreatitis!" This was a side of the story that not many were aware of, and fans could only imagine how worried Kunis was about her husband's health at that time.

Kutcher Did A Lot To Prepare For His Role

The movie was released in 2013 and revolved around the story of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, Apple co-founders, from the moment they created the company to the release of the iPod in 2001.

While real-life Jobs was highly rated for his world-changing innovations, the on-screen Jobs also shone a light on the tech creator's personal successes and the company's inner workings. Despite Kutcher's dedication to understanding Jobs' professional and personal life, the film was unsuccessful at the Box Office.

Kutcher's reported interest in tech made him a perfect fit for the role. He gave the role his all by learning about all he could about the late Jobs, such as his voice, mannerisms, walk, etc. For this reason, he emulated Jobs' fruit-only diet, which had consequences on his health.

On the night of the movie's premiere, the actor said, "I went to the hospital like two days before we started shooting the movie. I was like doubled over in pain. My pancreas levels were completely out of whack. It was really terrifying."

Did Jobs' Diet Contribute To Him Dying?

Many diet experts in the past have frowned on the decision to go through with a strict fruitarian diet, a major reason being the lack of the healthy nutrients necessary for a holistic diet.

Many medical risks have previously been associated with the diet, including diabetes, weight gain, malnutrition, tooth decay, and pancreatitis.

Jobs wholly embraced the very restrictive fruitarian lifestyle irrespective of the poor reputation of the diet. This decision contributed to the mystery of the technology genius.

Since he died in 2011 from a rare form of pancreatic cancer, many suspected it was because of his fruitarian diet. However, as confirmed by reports, the visionary's eating habits were not associated with his illness.
