Following their split in 2019, RHOA’s Porsha Williams and Dennis McKinley are reportedly taking things “day by day” as they move through this quarantine and attempt to save their relationship. An insider recently told “HollywoodLife” that the social distancing might even be doing the couple more good than harm as they ride out the storm. The two share a daughter, Pilar, and are utilizing the pandemic’s consequences to spend more time with her. The insider also added that while the couple still has a lot to work through, Williams is living in the present and “not thinking about the future”.
“Porsha and Dennis are spending this time together but Porsha is still taking things day by day,” the source stated. “She’s keeping the ins and outs of the relationship private this time and people have stopped asking her but those close to her feel like she’s really happy and in a good place and that’s all that matters. She’s not planning or thinking about a future or a wedding right now and is trying to just focus on the present and PJ. They’ve definitely connected more than ever during this time and things are going really well between them.”
Williams and McKinley first began their relationship in 2018 and appeared relatively solid until McKinley was caught cheating on Williams while she was pregnant with their daughter. The couple had even become engaged before the scandal, and though they have since gotten back together, they have yet to announce any wedding plans for the near future. Earlier this season, the RHOA showcased a very personal and vulnerable moment between the estranged lovers as McKinley and Williams talked openly about his infidelity.
McKinley started off by admitting to his cheating. He then provided his excuse for the affair by saying, “We had a rough pregnancy, all the way from start to finish. Sex during pregnancy, it’s nothing that a man wants to do.”
He also added that, “After PJ got here, postpartum was very real. We cried together like every night. That’s not a good enough why, but that’s the why. It was a poor decision and it was a selfish decision…I made a mistake, I cheated. I’ve done my best to let Porsha know that I love her and I’m remorseful and apologetic. The priority for me is the baby.”
Williams responded to McKinley’s excuses by saying, “A mistake, to me, is taking the wrong exit. You don’t make a mistake and set up with someone and cheat…That’s not where he needs to be in order for me to heal and move forward. He needs to be in a place in my eyes where he’s taking full accountability for his actions, period. No matter how it looks and feels. It insults me when he says mistake. I’m terribly disappointed and I’m hurt.”
