To say that Meghan Markle found royal life strange, and royalty less than what was presented in public, would not be an understatement. Her sudden appearance in Harry’s life must have shocked the royal family as well considering she was an actress, a divorcee and a woman of mixed-race. Clearly, while the racism in America is clear and evident, the one in the UK is more insidious and nastier for being hidden. This finally became the reason for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s eventual Meghxit.
The Duchess of Sussex was never really embraced by the Royal Family, despite her engagement and eventual wedding to Prince Harry, and the birth of their bonny baby Archie. In the ITV documentary, Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, Meghan admitted that she never thought that it (getting into and being accepted by the Royal Family) would be easy, “but I thought it would be fair and that’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile.” And this is also the part that fuelled Harry’s decision into Meghxit.
The British Press, or should we say the tabloid media was relentless in publishing half-truths and outright lies about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Because she was from a mixed-race, American, an actress, and a divorcee at that, the media decided she was not really fit for Prince Harry and started a besmirching campaign against her. This was often helped by remarks made by her paternal family, from whom Meghan Markle has been estranged for long. And yet, not a single Royal Family member stood up for her.
Considering that many in the Royal Family, like the British media, never accepted Meghan Markle or stood up for her, it was only natural for her and Prince Harry to make a decision that was in their best interests. And that decision was Meghxit, wherein the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to let go of their royal standing and duties and live a life away from public scrutiny. Of course, this was not welcomed by even Prince William and Kate Middleton, who felt rejected by Harry & Meghan’s decision to step down and away.
Thomas Markle Jr., Meghan’s half-brother, is at it again. Now he claims that Meghan might have royal blood after all, because of the Markles’ closeness with the Windsors. He told Express that other than their connection to the Windsors, the Markles come from another famous bloodline, and that is of Robert the Bruce, the King of Scotland,1306-1329. This is the man who led the First War of Scottish Independence against England, probably where Meghan Markle’s radical ideas come from. Are the Royals eating their hats now?
