Earlier this week Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson returned home to Los Angeles after receiving treatment for the coronavirus in Australia. Though the couple is feeling better and thankful to be home, they are still self-isolating like most of the country. Hanks tweeted, "Hey, Folks...We're home now and, like the rest of America, we carry on with sheltering in place and social distancing. Many, many thanks to everyone in Australia who looked after us. Their care and guidance made possible our return to the USA. And many thanks to all of you who reached out with well wishes. Rita and I so appreciate it. Hanx."

The couple had first revealed their diagnosis of the coronavirus on March 11th. Hanks had taken to Instagram to share the nerve wracking news.

"Hello, folks. @ritawilson and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive," he wrote.

"Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed," Hank continued. "We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves! Hanx!"

Since that initial post, both Hanks and Wilson had been staying up to date with fans by sharing updates on social media. Overall, the couples appeared to be in good spirits during the scary journey.

Shortly after sharing the news of their diagnosis, both Hanks and Wilson took to Instagram once again to give the first update of their time in quarantine. The couple took a selfie and wrote, "Hello folks. @ritawilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us. We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no? Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball. Hanx."

The pair has also been quite vocal in their mission to encourage people to continue on with voting for the upcoming election despite the chaos being endured due to the coronavirus. On Wednesday Wilson had shared a photo encouraging followers to take place in a voter registration "Couch Party" writing, "When We All Vote will host our first virtual #CouchParty, to reach eligible voters across the country and to make sure they’re registered and ready to vote. From a safe distance, our volunteers can still make an impact together through our texting program where we will interact with 50,000 thousands potential voters to make sure they are registered and ready to vote."
