Miranda Lambert's Anxiety Is 'Through The Roof' While Quarantining During The Coronavirus Outbreak

The last couple weeks have been a difficult time for everyone amid the coronavirus pandemic, and it's not different for Miranda Lambert. The country star shared an update on Instagram about what she's been up to while social distancing with her husband Brendan McLoughlin.

"I haven’t really known what to say on social media during all this. I’m not great at socials anyway and a time like this makes it that much more difficult for me to figure out how to be," she wrote alongside a gallery of photos.

"Tuesday of this week is when I finally realized I could unpack. For the next few months for me there are no shows, no sound checks, no bus calls, no flights. Just home. Once I processed it, I actually got a feeling of peace even though , like all of us, my anxiety about the sate of the world right now is still through the roof."

She continued by talking about what she's been doing to keep busy. "I’ve started working on some projects around the farm that I kept running from because I had to leave for work and some I’ve wanted to run from because organization is not my fav. Ive been having some pretty cool virtual happy hours with friends and family. Brendan and I have been cooking, cleaning, working out (some virtual classes but not enough), spending time with dogs and horses and just being together quietly."

Lambert also revealed that she's been creating some new music for the first time in awhile.

"I have written a few songs for the first time in a year," she wrote. "And text writing a cowgirl song with @ronniedunn (such a fan girl of B&D). Today I spent most of the day thanking Jesus that the sun was out. The baby chicks are about to move into their new coop and that’s about all the news we have around here for the time being. We miss our road family, New York family and I dang sure miss my Texas fam."

Staying Safe

Heath officials are urging people to remain in their homes as much as possible and avoid all social gatherings. Additionally, the CDC has issued some tips for helping to avoid contracting the disease.

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

Stay home when you are sick.

Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.

Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. The use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
