Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have made it back state-side after quarantining in Australia following their coronavirus diagnoses. Since returning, the husband and wife confirmed they would still be practicing preventative measures like "shelter in place" and social distancing to do their part in flattening the curve.

On Saturday (March 28), the Toy Story 4 actor took to Twitter to give fans an update on how he and his wife are doing. "Hey, folks...we’re home now and, like the rest of America, we carry on with sheltering in place and social distancing," he began in his tweet.

"Many, many thanks to everyone in Australia who looked after us. Their care and guidance made possible our return to the USA. And many thanks to all of you who reached out with well wishes. Rita and I appreciate it," the 63-year-old concluded.

Hanks and Wilson have returned to Los Angeles after spending the past couple of weeks in quarantine in Australia after testing positive for coronavirus. The couple were abroad because of Hanks' work an upcoming Baz Luhrmann film that is about the late Elvis Presley.

Hanks and Wilson first announced that they had tested positive for coronavirus in a March 11th Instagram post where he revealed their symptoms of fevers and body aches.

"Hello, folks. [Rita Wilson] and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches," the actor penned in the announcement. "Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive."

"Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?" the caption concluded.

Throughout it all, the couple of over 30 years remained positive and kept things light surrounding the news of their diagnoses. Hanks could even be seen on social media quipping in his signature charm. He quoted an old film in one of his posts by saying, "Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball."

Hanks kept the sunny disposition going by sharing updates on Instagram about life in isolation. "Hey folks. Good News: One week after testing Positive, in self-isolation, the symptoms are much the same. No fever but the blahs. Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch," he wrote in his caption.

He continued: "Bad news: My wife [Rita Wilson] has won 6 straight hands of Gin Rummy and leads by 201 points. But I have learned not to spread my Vegemite so thick. I travelled here with a typewriter, one I used to love. We are all in this together. Flatten the curve. Hanx."

Meanwhile, in addition to winning six straight hands in Gin Rummy, Wilson kept herself occupied by putting together a quarantine-approved playlist aptly titled 'Quarantunes'. Social media users helped curate the songs that were included. Some selections included The Police's "Don't Stand So Close to Me" and Matchbox Twenty's "Unwell".

In a March 22 update shared on Twitter, Hanks said, "Sheltering in place works like this: You don't give it to anyone - You don't get it from anyone. Common sense, no? Going to take awhile, but if we take care of each other, help where we can, and give up some comforts...this, too, shall pass. We can figure this out."
