Demi Lovato sure knows the difference between attraction and love. Back in 2009, the singer was very expressive about her feelings towards relationships, explaining in a tweet what exactly the difference was, at least to her. "Attraction is the spark that ignites when you first kiss, Love is the look in your eyes when you finally pull away," she wrote on Twitter in October of that year.

This Tweet by Lovato came only shortly after the singer checked into a care facility the next year due to suffering from depression and an eating disorder. It was also reported that Lovato had been self-harming herself amid bullying.

During the time that Lovato entered into treatment at the care facility, she had been dating Wilmer Valderrama, the actor who played Fez in 'That '70s Show'. Upon her entrance into the facility, the couple took a break, naturally. Despite their split, though, Valderrama continued to stand by her side, and according to Lovato, helped her get through those dark days. The two did get back together in 2011. Lovato tweeted out in 2015 how much she appreciated him for standing by her.

"I wish I could put into words how grateful I am for this man right here," she wrote on Instagram. "But my love has grown to a level that words could never possibly express how much this man completes me. He’s loved me the way I never thought I deserved to be loved and with this day marking my 3rd year sober After sharing my ups, putting up with my downs and supporting my recovery he still never takes credit and I want the world to know how incredible his soul is."

Just recently, while Lovato was on The Ellen Degeneres Show, she spoke about a myriad of topics, including wanting to make out with Rihanna, even giving her a shout out on the show. It doesn't look like the Barbadian singer is taking her up on the offer, but it was at least worth a shot, right?

On the program, Lovato also revealed that she had been using some of the popular dating apps, although, she didn't share exactly which ones. The singer also explained why the apps just didn't work for her. "No, I was on dating apps for a while but as I’ve spent some time with myself over the past couple months, I realized that I am the type of person that will find any way to regulate when I’m sad or lonely or whatever," she said to Ellen.

"I have to fight those battles on my own and I can’t let somebody come in and fix those issues for me. So right now, I’m single and spending my Saturday nights by myself," Lovato concluded.

Lovato is one of the few people that believe people can be friends after a breakup. It's not something that everyone can do, but the 'I Love Me' singer explained the situation following her break up with Valderrama. The couple released a joint statement on Instagram in 2016, revealing that they would continue to be friends, despite no longer engaging in a romantic relationship.

"After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship. This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends," the message on Instagram read. "We will always be supportive of one another. Thank you to everyone who has offered us kindness and support over the years. With only love, Wilmer & Demi."
