Farrah Abraham has infuriated Instagram all over again. The former “Teen Mom OG” took to Instagram on Thursday with a post 100% dedicated to the novel coronavirus – the 28-year-old started posting COVID-19 content over two weeks ago as she filmed herself panic-buying “like, 20 bottles” of Lysol in a supermarket sweep with 11-year-old daughter Sophia.
Farrah’s latest update appeared to be doing a little self-promo amid the global pandemic, with the star seen outdoors and riding a scooter with Sophia. Farrah called herself the “coolest celeb mom ever,” also wearing a face mask and latex gloves during her outing. Sophia donned the same.
Coronavirus has now claimed over 22,000 deaths worldwide.
Farrah’s post was a mash-up of paparazzi photos showing her and Sophia out and about. The two had taken precautions with their face masks and latex gloves, with Farrah also seen in trendy athleisurewear as she wore leggings and a crop top.
Headlines were shared by Mail Online: “Farrah Abraham sports a face mask and latex gloves as she scoots along beside her daughter Sophia in L.A.”
The entire state of California is currently on a “Stay at home” order made by Governor Gavin Newsom.
Admittedly, Farrah appeared to have made her high-profile outings into a bit of a fashion statement. Eyebrows have already been raised over the former MTV face not appearing to take social distancing seriously as she elbow-pumped with a neighbor in an Instagram video.
“Or if you stayed home you could leave the gloves and face masks to all the medical professionals who are desperate for them ??♀️,” one fan replied.
“What part of stay home do you not understand,” another asked.
“You should probably keep Sophia inside. Mom of the year,” a third wrote.
Farrah had taken to her caption by mentioning COVID-19, adding hasthags: “covid_19, latex, facemask” were all used.
For some, it appeared that the “celeb” status was one to be challenged.
“celeb?? Mom??” was one query.
For the most part, though, the sentiment really seemed geared towards fans asking the star to quit donning the mask (deemed useless by many medics) and instead consider the healthcare workers who are lacking them as hospitals struggle to cope.
“Please consider donating your N95 masks to your local hospital. They are desperate for PPE equipment,” one fan wrote.
Some users did bear the reality of the situation in mind. With a 6-foot distance now recommended for social distancing and families already living together permitted to be in close contact, Farrah didn’t appear to be breaking protocol.
“You can be outside ? just gotta wash your hands and wear face mask so idk what she’s doing wrong ?” a user asked.
Instagram will notice the smallest details, though, with one fan remarking: “But no helmet on the kid.”
Farrah is frequently a target for online trolls. That said, many would likely agree that the pleas for the Nebraska native to donate her equipment were worth considering.
