Travis Scott‘s Astroworld Festival continues to receive widespread backlash, online, due to the harm it caused to many attendees, last weekend. 300 were injured, and nine were later reported to have passed away, from injuries sustained at NRG Park.
Nine-year-old Ezra Blount suffered severe brain and organ damage, after being trampled by other fans in attendance. This was due to his father, Treston, passing out, from the pressure of the panic of the crowd. Ezra would go on to be under emergency care, while on life support, and in a medically induced coma.
Ezra Blount Passed Away On Sunday Night
Ezra’s father was hopeful that his son could possibly make a full recovery, and get back to doing the things they loved, again. This included seeing Ezra’s favorite artists, such as Travis. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it.
According to ABC 13 Houston, Ezra is said to have passed away, on Sunday night, in Houston. This was confirmed to the outlet, by his family. Attorney Ben Crump has since released a statement, regarding Ezra’s passing.
“The Blount family is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son. This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration. Ezra’s death is absolutely heartbreaking. We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer.”

Ezra And His Father Purchased Astroworld Tickets Earlier This Year
For Treston and Ezra Blount, Astroworld Festival was supposed to be a special moment for the two. Earlier this year, they quickly purchased tickets for the Houston-based festival, as Ezra was a huge fan of Travis. The two also stayed in the back of the crowd of 50,000, but still caught got in the midst of the horrific events.
“He was stoked. He was ready to go,” said Treston to ABC 13 Houston. “When I found out that he was a big fan [of Travis Scott], I was like, “Oh yeah, we gotta go, we gotta go see Travis live. We was in the back, way in the back, and I figured, ‘Okay, this is cool,’ ’cause the front can get a little wild. “
9YO Ezra Blount remains on life support today. I sat down with his father last night for a tough conversation. He explains why he brought his young child to #AstroWorld – a festival that NO ONE SHOULD HAVE DIED AT. Story: pic.twitter.com/IjhAYzVKnN

Blount Family Is Suing Travis Scott
Last week, it was also revealed that a lawsuit is on the table, against Travis Scott. The Blount family cited “grossly negligent conduct,” as the child was “kicked, stepped on, and trampled, and nearly crushed to death.”
“To his young, growing body, these injuries will have life-long effects, impairing his quality of life and ability to grow and thrive as he would have had he not been subjected to this incident,” stated the lawsuit, per PEOPLE.
Over 100 lawsuits have since been filed, included some that state that sexual assault occurred, at Astroworld Festival.
