Queen Elizabeth Moved Just Days Before Coronavirus Stuck Inside The Royal Family

The Clarence House has confirmed a report that Price Charles tested positive for COVID-19, or the Coronavirus, and that he is displaying mild symptoms but that he otherwise remains in good health.”

The 71-year-old heir to the British throne is in the “high-risk” category thanks to his advanced age, however according to the information currently available, he appears to be part of the more than 80 percent of those who contract the virus who don’t experience server distress, though his condition is being closely monitored.

According to Variety the Clarence House’s official statement read: “It is not possible to ascertain from whom the prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.”

Variety’s report also stated that the prince’s wife Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker-Bowles, was also tested and does not have the virus. Prince Charles is working from his castle home and is not the very first royal to be diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Other Royals Have Tested Positive For The Virus


Last week Prince Albert of Monaco tested positive for the virus, according to Variety, and both he and price Charles attended the same Water Aid charity event on March 10 and sat opposite each other in the cramped boardroom.

“Both Prince Charles — who has made a point of avoiding handshakes in recent weeks, instead sharing a ‘namaste’ with those he meets on royal engagements — and the Duchess have been self-isolating at their Balmoral Castle residence in Scotland in recent days after postponing a royal tour of Bosnia, Herzegovina, Cyprus and Jordan due to the pandemic,” Variety reported.

Charles is, however, the first British royal to have contracted the virus, and his most recent event to have attended was a March 12 dinner in London of the aid of Australian bushfire relief, where he addressed the room for a prepared speech.

While it’s as yet unknown when the prince was last in the company of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, precautions were taken to ensure the Queen stays out of harm’s way. The monarch relocated on March 19 from London to Windsor Castle one week earlier than previously planned.

The Queen’s Calendar Is Being Reconsidered

The Variety reported that the Queen will stay at Windsor Castle indefinitely, and Prince Philip who has been in poor health for recent years, will also stay there with the queen, thanks to his increased vulnerability to the illness.

“A number of events in the coming months involving the Queen and other members of the royal family were recently canceled, including various garden parties hosted by the monarch,” Variety reported, going on to say that a May’s 75th anniversary of VE Day June’s Trooping the Colour and a state visit by the Emperor and Empress of Japan are all being reconsidered.
