Evangeline Lilly, co-star in Ant-Man was dropped from her position in the franchise after COVID-19 remarks went public and earned a lot of backlash. She continually downplayed the COVID-19 pandemic, dropping her children off at various group sites, and continuing to live her life as if it was all normal, stating that she believed in "freedom over the safety of others". Fans fired back, and an inside source claims she's been removed from Ant-Man 3.

In Avengers: End Game and Avengers: Damage Control she played (or voiced in the case of the game) the role of Wasp and Hope Van Dyne.

Evangeline Lilly also has played the role of Tauriel in The Hobbit franchise, specifically in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

She is also the author of an ongoing children's book series called The Squickerwonkers*.

The controversial stance that she has taken about COVID-19 has created a lot of issues.

She posted a photo on Instagram, with the caption: "“Just dropped my kids off at gymnastics camp. They all washed their hands before going in. They are playing and laughing. #businessasusual."

She also responded to a fan's comment, with: "Hello Erin. I am living with my father at the moment, who has stage four leukemia. I am also immune compromised at the moment. I have two young kids. Some people value their lives over freedom, while some people value their freedom over their lives. We all make our choices. With love and respect. EL."

She then went on to tell the world that she believes COVID-19 is just another flu, and that governments are taking it too seriously.

Lilly revealed she is "immune compromised", and is high-risk for this virus, however she's not going to let that affect how she lives.

“I am also immune compromised at the moment, I have two young kids. Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives. We all make our choices.”

Lilly also lives with her father who has stage four leukemia, and does not see the need to take any precautions against the virus. She claims that it's "too close to Marshall Law" and that the government is trying to distract everyone from something.

On the point of her role in Ant Man 3, she will not be co-leading the movie anymore, as the film will shift to Scott and his daughter, Cassie Lang, who's played by Emma Fuhrmann. So while she may appear in the film, it won't be in as large of a role.

Looks like we'll get to see young Avengers learn to be heroes instead of a romance between Scott and Hope Van Dyne.

There is a lot of controversy surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, but most people seem to understand social distancing and quarantine, and that it is done for the better good of the entire population.
