Sometimes in Hollywood, celebrities tend to fall into very close bonds because of the projects they’ve worked on together. Some of Hollywood’s most beautiful friendships have been documented throughout the years like Martin actresses Tichina Arnold and Tisha Campbell. Even funny women Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who worked on Saturday Night Live together, have been making movies and appearances for years showcasing their undeniable chemistry. Then, there are some friendships that make us scratch our heads and wonder how they became so close.
Think of the friendship between Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg. A lot of people are still confused as to how their friendship began, but the truth is the two of them have been friends for a while. From Martha Stewart’s website;
Believe it or not, Martha and Snoop’s friendship emerged out of a bowl of mashed potatoes: Martha first invited Snoop onto The Martha Stewart Show back in 2008, and the two connected over a creamy bowl of spuds and a few vocabulary words that Martha had yet to learn (Snoop’s signature “foshizzle” chiefly among them).
“What a weird couple we were,” Martha says, recounting the story for NBC’s Harry Smith. “Martha kind of, like, pioneered this,” Snoop told Smith. “As far as letting rappers become a part of daytime television.” (Here, Martha chimes in: “They were too odd,” she says sarcastically.) “Yeah, we were odd,” Snoop admitted. “But we fit right in. You know, cooking with Martha just seemed like the right space to be in.”
Well another unlikely pairing lies within the friendship between actress Jennifer Aniston and singer Selena Gomez.
According to Distractify it all started once Gomez was afforded the opportunity to meet Aniston, who she has been a fan of for years.
According to Selena, they actually ran into each other in the bathroom at a Vanity Fair party when “nobody knew who I was” and she could barely keep her composure.
“My heart stopped and I freaked out and I ran to my mom,” Selena explained of the encounter.
Now, after six years, the two remain close despite an age gap that spans over two decades. However, as far as their friendship is concerned none of that matters.
In 2016, Selena elaborated on the advice she receives from Jennifer, telling Entertainment Tonight, “She’s been such an idol in my life from as early as I can remember, so it’s cool to see how well she’s handled herself.”
In another interview, she added, “She’s very cool and very sweet. She kind of gives me a lot of, like, maternal advice.”
