Andrew Cuomo, the governor of New York has been giving a lot of interviews recently due to what’s going on in the world right now. Usually, his interviews are serious due to the subject at hand but this time, the interview took a hilarious turn. Being interviewed by his brother Chris Cuomo made for some entertaining banter. The conversation starts with a little audio issue but is quickly resolved. “Can you hear me governor” Chris asks. ”I hear you but you should pay your phone bill” Andrew responds while keeping a straight face.
The conversation gets serious for a few minutes after that opening but then they both go back to poking fun at each other. Chris then brings up how Andrew raised him. He then asks Andrew what he thinks were the right and wrong moves he has made during this pandemic. Andrew then responds by saying “I don’t want to be in total association with you frankly and your show because I don’t need all that negativity. I’m generating my own negativity, thank you very much.”
“Not right now. You’re the man right now. Why is that” Chris asks? Andrew smirks before saying “Because I’m your brother, that’s why.” At this point, you can tell both brothers want to laugh but they hold back. Andrew then goes on to say that closing down everything was the right thing to do but he did think he did something wrong. “The worst decision is probably coming on your show frankly,” he says. This time Chris had to let out a chuckle.
Noise could be heard from Andrews’s mic so Chris decided to address it. “One, I’m hearing your fingernails like a scratch on something like you’re nervous. I know you’re busy but it’s always time to cut your fingernails and call your mom. The looks have to make you question the veracity – it has to be very confusing for you because you know what people are saying about how you look really can’t be accurate so it must be hard for you to make sense of what is real. I feel for you” Chris says.
“Jealousy? Yeah,” Andrew responds. He continues to say “little brother. Don’t worry there’s still hope for you. One day you can grow up to be like me.” He then starts laughing at his joke before Chris responds. “I’ve tried to be like you my whole life, look where it got me,” Chris says. He then thanks him for the interview and doing the job. You would think their back and forth would be over but it wasn’t. “You’re better than me. I’m proud of you” Andrew says. “Only on the basketball court” Chris responds. They went back and forth about their skills until the interview was fully over.
