Carrie Underwood 100% admitted it on Tuesday – she wasn’t in the mood to go anywhere near the gym, but she powered through and did it.
The 37-year-old singer, clothing designer, and “Find Your Path” author is, of course, currently quarantined with her family on account of the novel coronavirus – COVID-19 may be seeing the “Cry Pretty” singer stuck at home, but for the star whose latest business venture includes both her diet and exercise book and its accompanying Fit52 app, sitting on the couch with Netflix and Pringles just isn’t an option
Carrie took to her Instagram stories on Tuesday morning, appearing sweat-drenched and in selfie mode as she spoke to her followers. The blonde was showing off her gym-honed and ripped shoulders and arms via a simple tank top, also seen fully makeup-free with her hair in two braids.
“Today, I did not want to…did not want to get in the gym, did not want to work out, did not want to lift a weight,” Carrie began as she confessed her pre-workout state.
Carrie continued saying:
“The weather is rainy and gross again” and that it was making her both “sleepy” and “tired.”
“But I got up and I did it anyway,” the star continued, with the camera then taking in her beautiful smile. The “American Idol” winner’s promo posts for her Fit52 app may be professionally-shot and manifesting a sleek finish, but this video was raw as they come.
If there was anything to learn from Carrie’s motivation, it was her words stating she felt “better for it” after the sweat session. “Yay me,” she concluded.
Carrie has been making headlines for encouraging those staying at home to turn self-quarantine into something positive. A recent post from the Fit52 app read:
“For @carrieunderwood, working out is self-care. In times like these, we all need a chance to take a break and breathe. Who’s fitting in 30 minutes of “me time” today? #fit52.”
Carrie herself has also been journaling, sharing a stunning and solo photo of herself seated at a table and wearing a pale pink sweater as she wrote down her thoughts.
The run-up to the March 3 release of Carrie’s new book saw her speak to Women’s Health with both a reveal that she starved herself following her 2005 “American Idol” win and a breakdown of what she eats today.
Carrie had succumbed to online troll comments back when she won the popular singing series – the star dropped to just 800 calories per day – but her reveal over what she eats today showed her to be in the driving seat now.
Carrie starts her day with egg-white or tofu scrambles, berries, Ezekiel bread, and coffee. Lunch might be Tofurky sandwiches with veggies, with vegan chicken stir-fries on the menu for dinner. Snacks, meanwhile, could be green smoothies or a protein bar.
