Chris Daughtry Breaks His Silence On 25-Year-Old Daughter's Sudden Death

Singer Chris Daughtry is breaking his silence on the tragic passing of his daughter, Hannah, after the 25-year-old mysteriously passed away inside her home.

The 'American Idol' alum posted the heartbreaking statement on Instagram, confirming the death was sudden and he was unable to "say goodbye" to his daughter.

The singer included a photo of Hannah, along with the emotional message to his fans. "I am still processing the last 24 hours. I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken," Daughtry began. He continued, "I just recently lost my mother to cancer but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately. Adding, "We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it’s another huge hit to our family."

Chris addressed his fans directly, saying, "Thank you all for your kind words and condolences. They are truly felt and appreciated. I am now taking time be present with my family as we attempt to heal from this devastating loss."

"Hannah, I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. This hurts so deeply," he concluded.

According to reports, the 25-year-old was found Friday, inside of her home and no other details surrounding the death have been released. It's unclear if Hannah had any ongoing issues, but obviously, the death was very sudden and unexpected. Interestingly, Hannah's mother posted a statement revealing their daughter sustained "injuries" before her passing, but she didn't expand on it.

"My first born. I love you endlessly Hannah. Our family would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love as we grieve the loss of our daughter Hannah. We are awaiting the autopsy results to determine how Hannah sustained the injuries that caused her death. Our hearts are broken," she posted.

Daughtry has put his tour on hold, with the band issuing a statement about the tragic events. "Due to the unexpected death of Chris and Deanna Daughtry's daughter, Hannah, all currently scheduled shows for the coming week for Daughtry have been postponed. The Daughtry family thanks you for your understanding and respectfully asks for privacy during this difficult time." a spokesperson for the band said.

Chris received support from several 'American Idol' alumni including Constantine Maroulis, who wrote, "Love you brother. All my deepest sympathies." Pia Toscano issued a statement, saying, "Oh Chris, I am so so sorry. Sending you and your family so much love."

Fans and friends flooded the singer's social media, posting messages of support. "My brother, I’m sending you all my love and light ?? praying for you and your family," one person wrote. Another added, "I’m so very sorry for your loss. Sending so much love to you and your family.

At this point, the death is under investigation, and it's unclear if any foul play is expected. A medical examiner will conduct an autopsy and determine the exact cause of death.
