In 2016, Kanye West wrote a song that contained lyrics about making Taylor Swift famous, allegedly from the award presentation that he had interrupted prior. To ensure that Swift was kosher on West using her name in the lyrics, he called her, essentially asking for approval.

The abbreviated phone call seemed to indicate that Swift was on board, even though, one of the lyrics focused on West and the pop star 'potentially' having sex and calling her a 'b---h'.

When the song came out, however, Swift and her camp were furious with West's song, citing she was a victim of manipulation during the phone conversation about the lyrics.

Swift purported that, while, yes, Kanye did call him, as was documented in the abbreviated phone call, it was not the final edit, nor did it provide all the lyrics that would eventually make the final cut.

Well, fast forward to this past week where the full phone call transcript was released, and now, it seems that Swift has been vindicated. The source that leaked the phone call is unknown, but it's set off a number of chain reactions. Just this week, Swift liked a number of Tumblr posts that addressed the issue, seemingly throwing shade at Kanye. His wife, Kim Kardashian West, would have something to say about that, though.

Kardashian West Felt Obligated to Address Issue Due to Swift's Incessant Need toTalk About It

On Monday, March 23, Kardashian West took to her Instagram page to blast Swift and throw in some personal attacks, including calling her a 'liar'. "@taylorswift13 has chosen to reignite an old exchange – that at this point in time feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now," her long rant began.

"I didn’t feel the need to comment a few days ago, and I’m actually really embarrassed and mortified to be doing it right now, but because she continues to speak on it, I feel I’m left without a choice but to respond because she is actually lying."

'Taylor Lied Through Her Publicist Who Stated That Kanye Never Called to Ask For Permission...'

"To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that 'Kanye never called to ask for permission…' They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word 'b---h' was used without her permission," Kardashian continued.

"At the time when they spoke the song had not been fully written yet, but as everyone can see in the video, she manipulated the truth of their actual conversation in her statement when her team said she 'declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.'"

"The lie was never about the word b---h, it was always whether there was a call or not and the tone of the conversation. I never edited the footage (another lie)—I only posted a few clips on Snapchat to make my point and the full video that recently leaked doesn’t change the narrative," she said.

Kardashian West concluded her rant by stating that this would be the last time she addressed the issue, as people have greater things to worry about, a nod to those suffering through the novel coronavirus pandemic. "This will be the last time I speak on this because honestly, nobody cares. Sorry to bore you all with this. I know you are all dealing with more serious and important matters," the KKW Beauty founder concluded.
