Travis Barker Previously Discussed He & Kim Kardashian's Romance Rumors

The Kardashians are one family that is always in the spotlight for something, whether it concerns their personal or business lives.

Recently, Kourtney Kardashian's relationship and engagement with Travis Barker, the drummer for Blink-182, has been on the front pages of most news outlets.

Since the proposal, fans and media houses probed into details about his life and their relationship in general. Of course, it didn't take long before many realized that he was the same Travis Barker that once had an alleged relationship with Kourtney's sister Kim Kardashian.

In a memoir he wrote years before he was involved with Kourtney, Barker spoke about his feelings for Kim and the nature of their relationship. His ex-wife also spoke about their relationship in several interviews after they divorced, and what she said was very different from his version.

Less than a year after Barker and Kourtney reportedly started dating in December 2020, he proposed to her on a private beach in California in front of their family and friends.

According to reports, he led her to the center of a heart-shaped structure made of roses and candles, went on his knees, and asked her to marry him with a beautiful diamond ring that jewelers have estimated to be worth about a million dollars.

A source close to the couple told Entertainment Tonight that they are very happy together. "Kourtney and Travis really feel like they've found their perfect partner and match. They can't wait for this next step in their journey as a couple and to spend the rest of their lives together."

The two are very publicly affectionate with each other, and their fans can see it too. They regularly appear at events holding hands, sharing kisses, and posting photos of each other. It's also sweet when fans find either Barker or Kourtney in the comment section of each other's posts on social media.

In a memoir, he published in 2015 titled "Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums," Barker wrote extensively about his relationship with Kim and described her with terms such as "fuc***ng hot" and "eye candy."

He also shared that they went on several lunch and dinner dates and that through it all, he wanted to be a gentleman to her and treat her well. He wrote, "You might think I would be doing the worst things with this girl because of her tapes, but it was the exact opposite of any other encounter I've had with a woman: with Kim, I wanted to be nothing but a gentleman to her. It was so weird."

Likewise, he shared that their time together was sweet and innocent. A part of the book read, "We'd be really sweet around each other, like little kids, and then when we were apart, she'd call me and say, 'I want to see you again.' 'Me too,' I'd say."

However, he emphasized that their relationship was never more than the dates and innocent conversations. He wrote that they never touched each other, never got serious, but soon realized they weren't meant to be.

Barker was once married to Playboy model Shanna Moakler, and they got divorced in 2006. Since then, they've had a rollercoaster relationship, especially where the parenting of their kids is concerned. Moakler has accused Barker of lying severally, including the statements he made in his memoir concerning his relationship with Kim.

US Weekly reported that the model claimed that Baker completely lied about the nature of his relationship with the reality star as that they did get physical. She said, "Someone sent me all their texts and I'm also close friends with people who were there, while things were happening." She explained that Barker's infidelity was the reason why she divorced him in the first place.

According to her, he previously had an affair with Paris Hilton, then met Kim through her because Kim was working for Hilton at the time.

She said, "And he started using Kim as a model for Famous Stars and Straps." Moakler claimed that despite her pleas for him to focus on their marriage, he insisted on working with Kim, and then not long after, she received the messages that revealed the truth.

Since Barker and Kourtney started dating, he and Moakler have had clashes about their children and his new relationship. She came out about Kim's alleged affair and accused him and Kourtney of trying to ruin her relationship with her kids.

Their kids, Alabama and Landon, recently went on Instagram to denounce their mom's claims and stated that she was an absent mother. Despite this, Moakler continued to claim to TMZ that Barker's infidelity broke up her family.

She said, "My family's broken because of this family (the Kardashians) and now my kids are alienated from each other because of another sister in this family."

Moakler also added that she doesn't care about her ex-husband's relationship with Kourtney, but when asked whether she had a message for the sisters, she said, "Thanks for destroying my family. Twice."

In what many have assumed to be a reply to his ex-wife, Barker posted some lyrics from a song in his upcoming album. The tweet read, "Silence is also an answer."
