Justin Timberlake is ready to defend his past fashion choices. During an appearance on Lance Bass's "Popcast" podcast, Timberlake discussed a number of topics with his former bandmate, including his decision to wear all-demin outfits with Britney Spears to the 2001 American Music Awards.

The look was controversial at the time, but Timberlake said that he still doesn't regret wearing the coordinating ensemble. Bass, on the other hand, didn't seem to agree that the look was one anyone should emulate.

"You could kind of rock that today," Timberlake said. In response, Bass said that denim on denim was coming back in style, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a good look for a red carpet.

You do a lot of things when you're young and in love," Timberlake said. "That's what you do." He and Spears dated from 1999-2002, and their outfits have since become iconic. While it's been almost two decades, you'll still occasionally see people dressed head-to-toe in denim fr Halloween.

Timberlake also discussed his style more broadly, especially during the days when he was a member of *NSYNC. The singer said there were "a ton" of hairstyles he'd rather not think about, as well as the bandana phase, which Timberlake said was because he "couldn't figure out what the hell to do" with his hair.

"If we could have only been a decade earlier...where everything wasn't so documented," Timberlake said, referencing the fact that his rise to fame corresponded with the rise of the internet.

Bass invited Timberlake onto the podcast to celebrate the 20th anniversary of "No Strings Attached," the album that cemented *NSYNC as one of the biggest boy bands in the world. The rest of the band has also appeared on the show to commemorate the album, which broke the record for most albums sold in the first week of release.

In the interview, Timberlake and Bass also discussed their ongoing group text with the rest of the band, which suggests that they're all still close.

During the interview, Timberlake also suggested getting the whole band back together for an interview. Timberlake's goal was to get them all on the same page, as he believes that some of their statements about one another have been distorted in the past.

"This isn't a click-bait conversation, this is two friends talking over a crazy experience that we had and I really appreciate it man," Timberlake said. "You've got to figure out a way to get all four of us in a room with you."
