These are sad times for Chris Daughtry and his fans as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the Daughtry rock band has postponed his tour.

As reported by PEOPLE, the sudden hiatus was announced after the rock star's 25-year-old step-daughter Hannah was found dead in her Nashville residence.

The "American Idol" alum was scheduled to play with his band in Atlantic City on Friday, November 12, but the "Over You" crooner flew home to be with his grieving family.

The heartbreaking news of Hannah's death was confirmed by the Nashville Police Department, who discovered the young woman had passed away in her Nashville home on Friday.

The singer's wife, Deanna, had the 25-year-old and her brother Griffin from a previous relationship, while her marriage with the "Home" crooner was blessed with the twins Adalynn Rose and Noah James.

One can only imagine this incident's devastating impact on the poor family as the Daughtrys has asked the public for privacy.

The request was made via a statement released by the singer's representative to the news outlet. After announcing the postponement of all scheduled shows for the band, the spokesperson said:

"The Daughtry family thanks you for your understanding and respectfully asks for privacy during this very difficult time."

The representative concluded that investigations into Hannah's tragic death were still ongoing, and more information would be given later.

The lead singer's band was on tour to promote their sixth studio album, "The Dearly Beloved," released on September 17.

The 'American Idol' Alum's Inspirational Path To Fame

Earlier this year, Variety broke down Daughtry's rise to fame from a former contestant on "American Idol" to becoming the adorable rottweiler on "The Masked Singer," the rockstar has experienced an interesting path to fame.

Despite his renowned talents, the 41-year-old confessed that he wasn't good at winning to the news outlet. The four-time Grammy nominee may doubt his skills, but his track record was solid.

Like former "American Idol" contestants like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, Daughtry has succeeded outside the talent show.

The singer and his band released five albums and a Greatest Hits package before the guitarist achieved a new milestone by gaining an independent label from Warner Music's Alternative Distribution Alliance.

That wasn't all! The "Heavy Is The Crown" crooner went viral for stealing the spotlight in a fan-made video, "Batman: Dying is Easy," produced by Aaron and Sean Schoenke.

As reported by Popculture, the rock band's sixth album, "Dearly Beloved," was also the first studio album the "World On Fire" crooners would release without a major record label.

As aforementioned, the frontman has a self-owned record label, "DOGTREE Records," which produced the band's latest album. "Dearly Beloved" also held the third spot for the highest streaming rock band in the country.

During an interview with the news outlet about the album, the 41-year-old lead singer expressed his excitement for the album's success. In his words,

"It's the first record that I've done independently without a major record label, and with that comes a lot of freedom. It also comes with a lot of responsibility."
