Ellen DeGeneres has shown the world a jovial and generous version of herself on her hit daytime talk show ‘The Ellen Show.’ However, those who have worked closely with her claim there’s another side to Ellen. Staff recently complained that Ellen is a “diva” and “one of the meanest people.” While Ellen has yet to directly comment on these accusations, some people that Ellen is responding in her own indirect way. According to Mirror, Ellen posted a video on Instagram.
In the video she is working on her longstanding LEGO project. She wears a black T-shirt that reads “STAFF” and wrote in the caption of the video, “Don’t count me out yet, LEGO.”
“Alright, it’s coming along. You guys, I’m doing it,” she says in the video. “Ellen ‘Do It’ DeGeneres is doing it.”
Some fans observed how her staffs’ comments may have affected her.
“She looks so sad,” one commented.
“Must be super hard to fill all the time in quarantine with your billion dollar mansion and unlimited options,” another jabbed.
Comedian Kevin T Porter initiated the roast of Ellen.
“Right now we all need a little kindness. You know, like Ellen Degeneres always talks about!” the comedian wrote. “She’s also notoriously one of the meanest people alive Respond to this with the most insane stories you’ve heard about Ellen being mean & I’ll match every one w/ $2 to @LAFoodBank.”
“A) She has a ‘sensitive nose’ so everyone must chew gum from a bowl outside her office before talking to her and if she thinks you smell that day you have to go home and shower,” one staff member wrote.
“I was PAing for the Letterman special and her rider was 50 items long and one was specific vegan cauliflower puffs that are rarely sold so i had to drive to 15 different grocery stores to find it and she didn’t even touch them,” another person said of their encounter with Ellen.
“I was her agents exec asst for a year, so many! 1st thing you learn on the desk is if he was on a call w another client,” a third wrote.
“You have to beep in & say ‘your kids on the other line, it’s an emergency’ so he could take the call as she could never be called back bc she would fire him lol,” the user continued.
“She had a PA fired from a commercial for leading her to set the ‘long’ way,” another alleged.
“I worked @RealFoodDaily, served her & Porsha at brunch. She wrote a letter to the owner & complained about my chipped nail polish (not that it was on her plate but just that it was on my hand). I had worked till closing the night before & this was next morn, almost got me fired,” another claimed.
