Being a global superstar can be difficult at times - just ask Lady Gaga.

The 33-year-old has opened up about the difficulties she faced when trying to balance her career with her love life in the past, saying that she felt saddened over the fact that there was no room to focus her attention on romance.

Gaga, who rose to fame with the success of her debut single “Just Dance” in 2008, has found herself in multiple relationships over the years, with two of her exes - Taylor Kinney and Christian Carino - even going as far as to pop the question to the "Poker Face" star.

That’s right, Lady Gaga has accepted multiple engagements in the past, but she never got to walk down the aisle because her work schedule would ultimately get in the way of things, leading the Grammy winner with little to no time for her partner.

And with all the success she’s had a singer, songwriter, and actress, Gaga recnetly told The Kyle & Jackie O show that her personal life had always taken the backseat to her career - but after falling in love with her new beau Michel Polansky, the Italian-American singer was ready to implement some much-needed changes.

“It was a really hard process for me because I was going through a time in my life… I was actually having a lot of trouble with it,” Gaga shared during her candid interview.

Spending most of her time on the road, putting out a new album every other year and recently starring in the 2018 Oscar-award-winning flick “A Star Is Born,” Gaga admitted that work held a higher priority than the relationships she shared with her exes.

She continued: “I did not like being single. I felt like my career had kind of taken over everything and that my personal life was something that I didn’t get to have as much time to pursue and have control over and I got very sad.”

Gaga added that the troubling love life experience she’s faced in the past has allowed her to pen what she deems are some of her best songs yet. “Stupid Love,” for example, which is the lead single from her forthcoming studio album “Chromatica,” talks about finding someone special and never wanting to leave their side.

“It made me not only make a song that now is really big all over the world and I’m so proud, but it also made me open for a place where I could fall in love. I think that opening your heart in that way is very difficult and it’s scary.”

“I really wanted with ‘Stupid Love’ to put a sense of positivity in the world and remind people that we have love and that it’s the most beautiful thing that we have and that kindness still exists even though things don’t always feel easy and can feel really hard.”

Chromatica,” which is Lady Gaga’s sixth studio album, hits stores April 10.

Earlier this month, it was rumored that Ariana Grande will be featured on the new record, after supposedly having collaborated with Gaga in the studio a few months back.

The self-proclaimed Mother Monster has yet to confirm or deny the claims, but given that she’s already announced having recorded a duet with another female singer, it looks as if the rumors could very well be true.
