Meghan McCain just broke the big news -- she's expecting her first child with husband Ben Domenech. Even though the announcement should be a joyous occasion for the co-host of "The View," the world is in an odd place at the moment and McCain has revealed she will now go into doctor-recommended self-isolation to protect herself and unborn baby from the dangers of COVID-19.

The conservative TV star made the announcement Sunday afternoon via Instagram in a note she mentioned was "Personal news."

"My husband Ben and I have been blessed to find out I'm pregnant," McCain began her message to fans.

"Although this isn't how I expected to announce my pregnancy, both we and our families are excited to share the news with you all."

Luckily for Meghan McCain, a couple of her co-hosts on "The View," have taken time off, including Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg. The TV hosts were already a high-risk for coronavirus, so McCain taking time away from the studio shouldn't be too big of a shakeup.

After learning she was carrying a child, 35-year-old McCain explained she consulted with her doctors regarding the fear of contracting coronavirus.

"I consulted with my doctors and they advised me that for the safety of our baby and myself, I should be extra vigilant about limiting the amount of people we come in contact with. Starting immediately, I'll be joining the millions of Americans who are self-isolating as a precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19."

McCain added, in regards to her role on "The View:"

"As a result, I will be appearing on 'The View' from home via satellite."

Grateful for All Who are Helping

McCain may have her issues with some of her co-hosts on "The View," but she couldn't be happier with ABC for giving her the opportunity to contribute from home while keeping herself and the baby safe.

"I'm fortunate that my employer, ABC, has allowed me and my co-hosts to work remotely. I am indebted to our producers and crew," McCain wrote.

She also gave a shoutout to the countless hospital employees, emergency responders and everyone else for working so hard during the coronavirus pandemic.

"Please stay safe. Wash your hands and avoid public gatherings and I will continue to see you each morning on 'The View," McCain ended her message.
