Idris Elba is one of the celebrities that has tested positive for coronavirus. While many reports on the severity of coronavirus are valid and should be taken seriously, some of them are untrue and hurtful. One of those rumors is that Elba is currently in intensive care in risk of dying from coronavirus due to having asthma. Elba is insisting that despite the persistent rumors, he is recovering healthily at his home and is only suffering from a headache and runny nose.
Elba uploaded a video of a song that he made when he was in quarantine titled “The Long Road 2.” showing that he is a man of many talents.
“Passing the time. Thank you for all your support and encouragement right now. Means a lot. Creating is my therapy… I think I’m driving Sab crazy though… Hope you guys are good,” Elba tweeted.
“Glad you are well. There is a facebook story stating you are in the intensive care unit struggling,” one fan wrote in response.
This is fake. I’m fine for now. Thanks for showing me.

Elba replied writing, “Not true.”
“Thank you kindly for your quick reply. Get well soon. You are great and all the best from Montreal,” the fan responded.
“Someone posted a YouTube video of you saying you are in critical condition for the covid19 virus.. please debunk this fake rumor,” another fan tweeted along with pictures of the headlines reading, “Idris Elba Is In Critical Condition After His Asthma Disease Gets Complicated.”
“This is fake. I’m fine for now. Thanks for showing me,” Elba replied.
Elba responded to these tweets yesterday. These rumors are still surfacing despite the fact that Elba had uploaded a video a few days ago insisting he is doing fine and begging for the rumors to stop according to CNN.
“Please guys, now is not the time,” he said. “People need to know facts, need to understand the truth so that they can protect themselves. Stop sending this stuff out. It’s very dangerous for all, not just black people, but for everyone.”

Elba revealed that he was tested even though he had no symptoms. because he had come in contact with someone who had the virus.
“We were really lucky to test very quickly because of the shortages of the test, but from my perspective it was the best thing to do immediately was to get tested because I was going to be around a lot of people starting this new film,” he said.
“I’ve had asthma all my life and catching corona was not on my bucket list at all,” he joked. “But even my asthma is OK.”
