Today the world lost a country ledged. Kenny Rogers passed away today. Now before we get too far we should mention his death has nothing to do with COVID-19. Today he passed from natural causes while at his home surrounded by his family. While a sad day for the world and one star that will be missed at least it wasn't taken by COVID-19.

He was 81 years old when he left the world. Now he is up there with more country singers we are sure.

Dolly Parton spoke out about how she was feeling today.

“You never know how much you love somebody until they’re gone,” Parton wrote to the world. “I’ve had so many wonderful years and wonderful times with my friend Kenny, but above all the music and the success I loved him as a wonderful man and a true friend.”

The two have had a past together. Not romantic that we know of. But a real friendship and also music career as well.

She took to her Instagram to share a video of her singing a song they sang together. “Islands in the Stream" was the song that she shared with her fans. They sang it together back in 1983 when it was at the top of the charts.

The last time the duo sang together was in 2017. That was when they sang on Rogers' farewell tour. We were sad to see him go then but we are glad he got to share a moment with Dolly.

“Well, I couldn’t believe it this morning when I got up and turned on the TV, checking to see what the coronavirus was doing, and they told me that my friend and singing partner Kenny Rogers had passed away,” Parton shared in her Instagram video.

We were all shocked today when the news came on. We were all just catching up on the coronavirus and then there was Kenny Rogers. Which is a shock to most country fans that have come to love him.

“I know that we all know that Kenny is in a better place than we are today. And I’m pretty sure he’s gonna be talking to God sometime today – if he ain’t already – and he’s gonna be asking him to spread some light on bunch of this darkness going on here. But I loved Kenny with all my heart, my heart’s broken, and a big ol’ chunk of it has gone with him today.”

She finished the video with saying that she can speak for his family saying that they will always love him.
