While coronavirus is plaguing the world, celebrities are giving back in order to fight the pandemic. Coronavirus has had the biggest impact in China, Italy and the United States. The virus is improving in China after wreaking havoc there the longest but the cases in Italy and the United States are only getting worse. Both countries have requested that citizens stay inside as much as possible as businesses are shut down, restaurants can only provide take out meals and people must maintain 6 feet of distance between each other.

According to Variety, Rihanna is the most recent celebrity to donate to the cause. Rihanna has donated $5 million through her organization the Clara Lionel Foundation. Her donation has been distributed to marginalized communities in the United States, the Caribbean and in Africa.

“Never has it been more important or urgent to protect and prepare marginalized and underserved communities — those who will be hit hardest by this pandemic,” CLF executive director Justine Lucas said in a statement made to Variety.

“CLF believes that one of the most powerful weapons we have against COVID-19 is preparedness,” a group from the organization said in statement. “Protecting our frontline health workers and marginalized communities around the world requires getting ahead of it fast, and the time to act is now.”

Other celebrities have contributed to coronavirus relief. Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos donated $1 million to the New York Governor’s Office and WIN organization for women's shelters throughout New York City as reported by People.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds made a generous contribution to help feed those in need. “Covid-19 has brutally impacted older adults and low-income families. Blake and I are donating $1 million to be split between Feeding America and Food Banks for Canada,” Reynolds wrote.

“We want to encourage everyone out there to join us in whatever way that you can, big or small. Everything makes a difference. Everything that we do together makes a difference,” Ciara said in a video announcement after donating $1 million.

Britney Spears is offering to help all of her fans in need.

"Our world is going through such hard times right now," Spears said in the video. "Whether it's with food or I'm getting your child diapers or whatever it is, DM me and I will help you out."
