Josh Duggar is the oldest sibling out of the 19 children, Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar had. The Duggar family became famous in 2008 when they first appeared in their own hit reality show. The show was first called, 17 Kids and Counting and later became 19 Kids and Counting.
The show was on TV for seven years on TLC. However, once the scandal of Josh molesting some of his younger sisters while they slept came out, the show was canceled. Then, the spin-off, Counting On started.
Josh wasn’t allowed to appear on the new show. Although his wife Anna Duggar and their children have appeared a few times, TLC refuses to budge on letting him on the show.
A police report stated, back at the beginning of the 2000s, that Josh admitted to touching some of his sisters inappropriately while they slept. Many of them didn’t realize he did this to them because of them being asleep at the time. One was even too young to remember it happening to her.
This isn’t the only scandal Josh was in around this time. Around the same time that the story of the molestation leaked to everyone, Josh also admitted to cheating on his wife, Anna, whom he has been married to since 2008. He also admitted to being addicted to porn.
With all of this happening at once to the couple, it definitely put a strain on their marriage. They had four children at the time. However, they worked things out and now have six children.
So, how did Josh disrespect Jill at her wedding in 2014? During his speech, he gave at her wedding he allegedly called her a ‘tattle tale.’
Some of the fans who watch the show, Counting On started a discussion on Reddit about the speech Josh gave during her wedding. One fan said, “… At Jill’s wedding, he gave a speech & said she was the tattle-tale of the family. Imagine your abuser 1. Being at your wedding 2. Giving a speech at your wedding 3. Taunting you in said speech for possibly outing them as your abuser.”
Someone replied with, “Wait wait wait. I can’t believe [I] never connected the dots on this. I know Jill was always called the family tattle-tale but it never occurred to me that she could have ‘tattled’ on Josh for abusing her.”
Another one said, “I think if you pay attention this sick sh*t does tell the truth without shame,” another user added.”
Ever since the news emerged about what Josh did to his sisters many years ago, TLC will not allow Josh on the show at all.
Some fans think that his sisters, who are all older and married now, are still haunted by what he did, even though they were sleeping when it happened and one was too young to remember it. However, many of the fans are ashamed of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar for not cutting Josh out of the family once they found out what he did.
What do you think about this? Do you think Josh got everything he deserved after what happened?
