Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have been friends for quite some time, and it’s no surprise to see the two artists collaborate on “Red (Taylor’s Version).”

It’s been almost a decade since Swift’s fourth studio album “Red” debuted in October 2012. The album, a mix of pop, country, and rock did well at the Grammys in 2012. After being nominated for Best Country Album, “Mean” went on to win Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.

After Swift learned that she was not given the opportunity to buy back her old catalog, Swift set out on a mission to rerecord all of her old albums. This started with “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” which was released earlier this year on April 9, 2021, through Republic Records.

On Friday, November 12, Swift released her highly anticipated “Red (Taylor's Version)” including an impressive array of thirty songs that did not make it to the original cut of the album. This includes a ten-minute version of the song “All Too Well,” which has been consistently rated as one of Swift’s most popular songs.

Ed Sheeran Worked With Taylor Swift To Create 'Red (Taylor’s Version)'

Fans who are familiar with the first “Red” album know that Swift and Sheeran collaborated together on a duet called “Everything Has Changed.” However, Sheeran revealed earlier this year that the album also features a song called “Run,” which was the first song the singer-songwriter pair “ever wrote together” in 2012.

This morning, Sheeran teased a snippet of the new song, which has never been heard by fans before.

“'Run' is the first song me and @taylorswift ever wrote together, and 'Everything Has Changed' was the second,” he wrote. “We re-recorded both of them for ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ which is out today and they are just great. So fun getting to revisit these again. Check out the whole album out on all platforms and have an awesome weekend x.”

Fans couldn’t help but heap praise on the song, calling it “beautiful” and “so soothing.”

Taylor Swift Is Making Fans ‘Wildest Dreams’ Come True

This morning, Swift also took to Instagram to address her fans, featuring a photo of her riding in a bright red car and enjoying the autumn weather.

“Just a friendly reminder that I would never have thought it was possible to go back and remake my previous work, uncovering lost art and forgotten gems along the way, if you hadn’t emboldened me,” she wrote. “Red is about to be mine again, but it has always been ours. Tonight we begin again. Red (my version) is out now.”

Still, Swift does have one more surprise up her sleeve. Although she will perform on “Saturday Night Live” tomorrow, she will also be releasing a short film based on “All Too Well” Friday night at 7 PM EST.

The short film stars Sadie SinkDylan O’Brien, and will also feature an appearance from Swift herself. Swift is also credited for writing and directing the short film.

Although fans have been loving the new album so far, fans can’t wait to see what Swift has in store for them tonight.

“I always felt like the lyrics of 'All Too Well' was a touching letter to a lover that I wasn’t supposed to read. Every time I listen to it my mind swarms with all these wonderful feelings, like reading a heartbreaking novel,” one fan commented. “I can’t wait to see how Taylor imagined her song and if her actual thoughts were anywhere what I imagined they would be.”
