By Marisa Roman

Priyanka Chopra took to social media this week to confirm that she and husband Nick Jonas have been in self-isolation for over a week amidst the coronavirus concerns. The 37-year-old actress confirmed that she and her husband are safe, but decided to practice social distancing, in order to wait out the virus. Priyanka also revealed that she would be hosting an Instagram Live with two representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO) in order to make sense of what’s been going on.

Chopra went on to tell her fans, “'I hope you are all safe out there. I just wanted to come in and say hello! This is such an insane time and all of our lives have been completely turned upside down and it feels like, something out of a movie, but it’s not. Nick and I have been home for the last week and this is Day 8 of self-isolation for us. We have always had such crazy schedules and had so many people around us all day and all of a sudden, this being our reality, it just feels crazy. I am sure all of you feel the same way.”

While Chopra shared that she and Jonas were healthy and practicing social distancing, she also decided that she wanted to get to the bottom of the virus, straight from a reliable source. Chopra announced, “'All of the solitary time makes you think. And just like all of you, I have been reading and all the information online seems scary. But I'm also wondering how much of the information is actually accurate. Ain't you wondering that? What is real out there and what's not? It's just also confusing and overwhelming.” Which is why Chopra decided to have a live chat with WHO representatives on Thursday, March 19 at 12:30 PST.

Chopra went on to confirm a tag in which fans can submit their own questions, then revealed that the IG Live will include Dr Tedros, the Director General of the World Health Organization, and Maria Van Kerkhove, who is the technical lead for Covid-19 at the WHO. She then included, “And we also have Hugh Evan, CEO of Global Citizens. You can ask the people who are actually on the frontline fighting the virus anything that you want to know. Knowledge is power. And the more we know, the quicker we can work together to flatten the curve and fight this.”

Chopra then posted in her final video “There are so many other things to stock up on right now. Please look out for each other and the people who are most at risk for #Covid19.” The live chat hosted by Chopra and WHO team members will take place at 12:30 PM PST, or 7:30 PM GMT, on Thursday, March 18. You can tune in and watch for yourself, or even participate if you have your own questions. Priyanka Chopra’s IG channel is @priyankachopra.
