One of the stars of the long-running reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians is in the spotlight for controversy and backlash again. This seems to be a common thing that happens to the women of this family.

Not surprisingly, the backlash was borne out of concern over the COVID-19 -- also known as the Coronavirus -- pandemic that has now gone global. Kim Kardashian West got into trouble with her social media followers after what seemed like an innocent post.

Sending Love

Kim's Instagram post was just an ordinary one. She seemed to pose in a closet, with racks of clothing hanging behind her. In the image, Kim leans into the camera, puckering her lips into a kiss for the shot. In the caption, the mogul said she was sending "lots of love" to everyone in this stressful time.

Followers were not happy with this photo, though it seems totally normal. People panned Kim's caption, claiming love is not needed right now but rather money.

History Repeats Itself

This sort of thing has happened to Kim before. She was criticized heavily for not doing enough to help those affected by the wildfires in Australia after posting updates about the events on her social media.

People claimed the reality TV star made enough money to actually donate rather than just posting about the situation. Kim responded, saying that the general public was not aware of everything she does to give back. The Kardashians and Jenners are said to donate to charity in private.

COVID-19 Backlash

Both Kim and youngest sister Kylie Jenner received backlash earlier this year thanks to their reactions to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both published social media posts that angered their followers because they thought they did not take the situation seriously enough.

Kylie posed for a photo shoot in which she held her finger in her mouth, despite the CDC warning others not to touch their face at this time. Kim shared a message from sister Kourtney Kardashian sent to the family group chat. The message contained a screenshot of a 2008 book that some thought was a prediction of the pandemic.

Safety Measures

After a while, the Kardashians and Jenners seemed to get on board with the safety measures being taken surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic. Perhaps mother Kris Jenner took a test for the virus, which came back negative.

Kim began posting videos that taught others how to properly wash their hands. While Kylie and Kourtney shared images from home, showing others how they intend to deal with the current self-quarantine going on. Many have been urged to remain home as often as possible to try to slow the spread of the illness.
