Chrissy Teigen and Sharon Osbourne would likely not be classified as friends, even though both have musician husbands. (Teigen has been married to John Legend since 2013; Osbourne has been married to Ozzy Osbourne since 1982. But when Legend and Kelly Clarkson - both appearing as judges on "The Voice" - revised the lyrics to the 1944 Frank Loesser song "Baby, It's Cold Outside" to make the song more appealing to listeners in an era of sexual assault, Osbourne has plenty to say.

"What would John Legend do, if in 40 years, if somebody wanted to, you know times change, re-record one of his songs, and there was some group that found it offensive, and somebody just went, ‘Oh, I can change the lyrics on that,'" Osbourne said during an episode of her daytime talk show "The Talk." "To me, it's like a master painting. It's a piece of art," she said. Legend and Clarkson released the new version in October of 2019 aftera radio DJ declined to play the classic version during a time when people were taking a closer look at sexual assault and date rape culture in the #MeToo era.

After appearing in the romantic comedy "Neptune's Daughter" - originally written by Loesser and his wife, Lynn Garland, as a way to let cocktail party guests it was time to leave - the song took home the 1949 Academy Award for Best Original Song. "Baby, It's Cold Outside" has been recorded numerous times since, including Legend's version, which Teigen was quick to defend from Sharon Osbourne's criticism. "Sharon's always going to have something to say, it's her job," Teigen said during a quick interview with Entertainment Tonight. "I remember those days of getting to talk sh*t for money. It's very fun."

Sharon Osborne claimed she didn't mean to trigger a beef between herself and Chrissy Teigen.

Sharon Osbourne, however, could not let the comment go, and said in response to Teigen, "It's amazing that you remember those days, because the show you were on didn't even last a season." She also said she didn't want to start a quarrel with the actress, who had served as a co-host on the show "TooFab." "I think that John Legend is an amazingly multi-talented person," Osborne said. "He is incredible, and I think she's lovely. They have a beautiful little family. They do. They're just the perfect couple. I don't have a bone to pick, but I'm also entitled, Chrissy, to my opinion. That's all I was saying. I just thought the lyric was silly, and that's it."

For his part, Legend said the remake he wrote with Natasha Rothwell, a former writer for "Saturday Night Live," wasn't meant to be taken so seriously. "The song was supposed to be silly," he told The Guardian. "It wasn't supposed to be preachy at all. I never disparaged the old version. It would be fun, and it would be newsworthy. And – yeah – it was both." The remake of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" appeared on the John Legend album "A Legendary Christmas."
