Ever since the deadly shooting on the set of Alec Baldwin‘s film “Rust” happened there’s been a non-stop blame game going on between all of the people involved. If there was one person though that could’ve essentially prevented all of this it was ‘Rust’ armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed. Ever since the first news broke of the shooting she was labeled as the person in charge of gun safety on set. You just have to look at the events that took place to see she potentially didn’t do a good enough job. Now her defense team is making some pretty bold claims. Going as far as to blame the authorities for allegedly tampering with the scene of the crime!
The Rust Armorer Defense Team Wants To Get Things Cleared Up
The deadly outcome on the set of the movie “Rust” can be traced back to the fact that there were allegedly live rounds packed into a dummy round box. At least that’s what the Rust armorer’s defense team is blaming things on. Essentially the story that they’re going with is that this was an inside job and someone deliberately put live rounds in the prop box. If we ever find who that person is, then we’ll know who framed Alec Baldwin. The defense team attorney Jason Bowles mentioned,
“We are asking for a full and complete investigation of all of the facts, including the live rounds themselves, how they ended up in the ‘dummies’ box, and who put them in there,”
Someone Deliberately Wanted To Have Rust Armorer Hannah Gutierrez Lose Her Job
Since the deadly shooting of the film’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, an unfortunate podcast intervention by Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was leaked. In the audio she essentially comes across as someone who is not very good at her job. Again, you’d just have to look at what happened, and put two and two together to say that there’s no question the person who is most responsible for the tragedy is Gutierrez-Reed. Her lawyers mentioned though,
“We are convinced that this was sabotage and Hannah is being framed. We believe that the scene was tampered with as well before the police arrived,”
The Biggest Problem For This Defense Team Is The Lack of Proof
There are a couple of questions still left unanswered around this tragedy. How live rounds got in the dummy box is the number one thing that everyone wants to know. Even if someone other than Gutierrez-Reed deliberately switched the rounds was it not her responsibility to check the gun before she handed it to Baldwin? At this point, albeit from the outside looking in, it just seems like the Rust armorer’s defense team is trying to promote this conspiracy theory because they have no other path that they can follow.
So far they have been unable to provide any type of evidence that would suggest someone other than Hannah Gutierrez-Reed tampered with the rounds. Again, even if she didn’t put the live rounds in, could she still be held liable for the murder? Since it was literally her job description to make sure weapons were ok to fire on set?
