Mackenzie McKee has made an announcement regarding her overall wellbeing – with mentions of her mental health. The “Teen Mom OG” star’s Instagram post came just hours before a new series of the MTV franchise airs tonight Tuesday – the Oklahoma native addressed “public humiliation” and the December 2019 passing of mom Angie Douthit, alongside a confirmation that she will not be watching this season.
Mackenzie updated her Instagram on Tuesday afternoon, sharing a stunning snapshot of herself – she looked like a total doll posing with her bombshell blonde hair down, plus a gorgeous smile.
Mackenzie’s caption shared more.
“As many of you know, @teenmom premiere airs tonight,” she began, adding:
“Last year was a year I never imagined would happen to me. My heart was shattered into pieces, I learned more about life and myself In 6 months than in all 25 years of life. And i lost my very best friend in a time I needed her most. Some days I feel like I will die of a broken heart. Some days I want to hide in a dark hole and never come out because of complete public humiliation.“
The mom of three continued:
“I have deactivated my Twitter for mental health reasons and will not be watching this season. I am still trying to crawl out of last year and to have to relive it all over again is something I don’t think I can conquer.”
Mackenzie then admitted that she has not been “a perfect wife,” confessing that she’d made the same “unfaithful mistakes” that husband JoshMKee has
“I am choosing at this time to live alone, focus on my kids, my business, and growing closer to God,” she added, continuing that her decision to stay away from social media was a choice. The blonde then asked for prayers.
Mackenzie has faced hardship beyond the 2019 death of mom Angie as she lost her lung cancer battle – the recent slamming on the star’s social media also had nothing to do with husband Josh.
Earlier this month, Mackenzie updated her Instagram with an ad for Boom Bod – weight loss shots from the brand have been promoted before by Mackenzie, with the return apparently showing that the company values both Mackenzie’s influential status and her killer workout body.
As The Blast documented, some of Mackenzie’s followers found the ad to be in poor taste.
“Don’t buy this stuff. It’s a con and not healthy at all. They’re basically a laxative,” one fan had replied.
Another begged “you girls” to “stop pushing this stuff.”
Mackenzie’s post today brought in the motherload of support. Alongside the 8,000+ likes clocked in two hours, the comments section quickly filled up.
“No matter what they show on this season. It doesn’t matter! You are always striving to be a better person and that’s what matters ?,” one fan wrote.
“Your story is absolutely incredible. You do you and those beautiful babies mama ?,” another wrote.
Since Angie’s passing, Mackenzie has continued to build her Body by Mac fitness brand and its clothing line, also caring for kids Jaxie, Gannon, and Broncs. The star was recently moved to tears after finding a note from mom Angie in her purse.
