Fans of America’s entertainment industry are quite familiar with the Kardashian family. Their reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” thrilled television lovers for years and still airs to date.
Kim Kardashian, the second daughter of the family, is one of the most popular of the bunch. The mother-of-four is a multi-hyphenate who has dabbled into many businesses including, the shapewear company Skims and the cosmetics brand KKW Beauty.
Over the years, Kardashian’s drama-filled affair with rapper and father of her kids, Kanye West, kept her in the headlines. Their recent divorce news even added to the flames making fans almost forget that she had tried out a new venture in the academic world.
Her journey to getting called to the bar has been long and winding if one should go by the tidbits she often drops. Here’s a catch-up on her life as a law student.
How It All Started
As far back as 2016, Kardashian dropped hints that revealed her interest in the law profession. As per Nicki Swift, she said, “If things slow down and I had time, I really wanna go to law school… Or I could become a forensic investigator.”
At the time of the news, fans felt it was just a joke or reality stunt that would never see the light of day. Well, they were in for a shocker, as the reality star decided to make true her desires.
Three years later, she revealed that she had started her law journey via the “reading the law” method. It involves her spending at least four years of apprenticeship with a legal practitioner to be qualified to take the California bar exam.
After a year of studies, the reality star took the baby bar exams as per protocols. Unfortunately, she suffered a setback as the results did not pan out well even after studying hard.
Kardashian Failed The Baby Bar
Kardashian‘s law journey is a current part of the “KUWTK” series. Hence, her followers were privy to the moment her mentor informed her of the results.
“You needed a 560 and you got a 474,” her mentor said in a video chat included in a scene of “KUWTK.”
“That’s extremely close on a test that most people are not taking in the middle of a pandemic,” the mentor added.
The news of her failure hurt the reality star deeply, which she expressed in a chat with her sisters. More so, she felt saddened that she could have spent the wasted reading hours with her kids.
“So you guys, I did not pass the baby bar,” Kardashian told her sisters.
“The fact that I spent all that time away from my kids,” Kardashian complained. “I can’t do it again, I don’t have time.”
Kim Kardashian Is Not Giving Up On Her Dreams
Although it seemed like Kardashian had given up on her dreams after failing the baby bar, she mustered some courage to try again. Fans got confirmation about her change of mind via a Q&A on her Instagram stories.
One follower quizzed the business mogul on how she was “finding the bar exams.” “Extremely difficult,” Kardashian replied. “Unfortunately, I haven’t passed yet, but I am not giving up, and I’m preparing to take it soon.”
In August 2021, the star confided in fans that she had tried her hand at the baby bar again. “I think I did well,” Kardashian said. “So, if I don’t pass, I am going to be so f—king pissed, you have no idea.”
Sadly, she bombed this new attempt, which is her third stint at writing in the exam. It is safe to assume that the reality star must do a lot of work to achieve her dreams.
Kim Kardashian Is Already Making Some Lawyer Moves
Despite the recent setback on her quest to be a lawyer, Kardashian has already added her quota to helping the legal system. She took up the role of an advocate for clemency for a prisoner who needed it.
In 2018, she met with ex-President Donald Trump and several other legal luminaries to seek a presidential pardon for a prisoner named Alice Johnson – who was serving life on a nonviolent drug charge. At first, it seemed like an impossible task, but Kardashian’s suave words helped their appeal push through in the end.
“I watched with my own eyes Trump confess to having tremendous fears of letting somebody out of prison and that person going and doing something terrible, and the impact that it would have on his political prospects,” as per an eyewitness.
“He was visibly nervous about it. And I watched Kim Kardashian unleash the most effective, emotionally intelligent intervention that I’ve ever seen in American politics.”
Kardashian has proven she has the heart to be a lawyer. All that’s left is figuring out how to pass her exams.
