Joelle Joanie Siwa is a teenage American dancer and singer who got into a romantic relationship with Kylie Prew early this year. Their romantic relationship ended recently, but their friendship remains intact.
The singer publicly revealed that her ex-girlfriend is still a big part of her life even now, as she is currently competing in the thirtieth season of “Dancing With The Stars,” an international Television series.
During a recent interview with Paris Hilton, the “Dance Moms” star talked about her break-up with Prew, her feelings towards her, and how the relationship played out during the short time they were together.
The break-up came around when she was set to compete on DWTS, but she is trying hard to focus on the competition so it won’t affect her performance.

Siwa And Prew’s Romance Journey
Siwa and Prew were close friends for a couple of years before they had something romantic between them. Their relationship officially started on January 8, 2021, and became public in February that same year.
The dancer publicly addressed her relationship for the first time on one edition of Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show.” Some months into the relationship, Siwa posted a photo on her Instagram story, which sparked different reactions from fans on social media.
She shared the story with a caption that read, “I don’t like saying goodbye.” Fans were having a field day with their thoughts, but she quickly quelled the wild thoughts, stating that she and Prew had a long-distance relationship.
She said the reason for her statement is that she only gets to see her now ex-girlfriend sometimes. So she wishes not to say goodbye whenever they want to bid each other farewell. However, one advantage is that their next meeting is always more special.
They celebrated milestones together during their relationship days and were even featured on one episode of Siwa’s mother’s podcast, where they extensively talked about how their relationship started.
Siwa Gives Her Reason For The Break-Up
Nine months into the relationship, a source from the US. Weekly revealed that the duo was no longer together. The first sign was that Prew stopped showing up in the DWTS audience stands since they separated.
Nevertheless, Siwa is trying her best to give her all to the competition. It’s a rough time for her, but she makes her appearances and performances as professional as possible because she doesn’t want to disappoint her fans.
Siwa confirmed her break-up with Prew in an interview with Hilton. The DWTS competitor said that there is no bad blood between them despite the separation and that she still has a clear mind towards her ex.
She still considers Prew her best friend, but she felt the relationship happened with the right person at the wrong time. While speaking on the podcast, she highlighted the beautiful moments they shared as a couple.
They are in their teenage years, so they still have a long time maintaining their friendship even though their romantic relationship has ended. Siwa admitted that she feels lucky to have Prew as a friend still.
Siwa Broke A Record On ‘DWTS’
In the history of “Dancing With The Stars,” there has never been a same-sex pair in the competitions. Every male contestant always has a female partner and vice versa. Siwa is the first competitor to break that record.
She has a female partner, Jenna Chmerkovskiy, in DWTS season 30. Jenna is a Latin-American choreographer and ballroom dancer who was born in the early 90s.
On one episode of the “Scrubbing In With Becca Tiley & Tanya Rad” podcast, Jenna explained that she and her partner were the first same-sex pair to contest on the show. It is already a practice in the UK, but it is new in the United States.
She shared her experience while teaming up with her partner, Siwa, on the podcast. She said the YouTube personality performed beyond all her expectations and that she is happy to be on the same team as her.
Siwa’s Personal Life
Siwa was born on May 19, 2003, in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Her mother and father are from Iowa and Nebraska, respectively, and they had a boy, Jayden, before Siwa, who is now a vlogger.
Before her relationship with Prew, she was with Mark Bontempo, a TikTok star, from August to November 2020. Earlier this year, she came out supporting the LGBTQ+ community on social media.
A fan asked her what she specifically identifies as in the community, but she did not answer. It was after some months that the news of her new relationship with Prew broke out.
In another interview, she admitted that she frequently uses ‘gay’ and ‘queer.’ In October 2021, Siwa and Prew ended their romantic relationship.
