Now before you get your hopes up, there hasn't been any official announcements about a 'Friends' reboot/remake. In fact, we're sure many fans would be against the idea because of the legacy that the original show from the 90's carries. But we wouldn't put Hollywood above it, considering they will reboot and remake anything that quenches that little bit of nostalgia.

Today we are focusing on some ideas that were being kicked around by Friends star Courteney Cox, particularly involving actor Timothée Chalamet.

In one of Kevin Nealon's YouTube vlogs, simply titled Hiking with Kevin, Courteney Cox talks about some of the ideas for Friends, along with social media, her life, and current events.

When the idea of a Friends reboot (technically the topic was recasting with a younger cast) was mentioned, Cox didn't waste a second mentioning Timothée Chalamet to play Joey. Timothée Chalamet has been rising to stardom in the past few years, and we're sure he would jump at the chance to be on Friends

Timothée Chalamet is currently 24 years old, which is not far off from LeBlanc's (who plays Joey) age when he started on Friends in 1994 (LeBlanc was 27). Chalamet's most notable roles include Cooper's son in Christopher Nolan's epic Interstellar, Elio in Call Me by Your Name, and he recently starred in Greta Gerwig's Little Women, as Laurie.

Chalamet is already set to appear in two huge films, Denis Villeneuve's highly anticipated Dune, and Wes Anderson's charmingly witty The French Dispatch, both are set to be released in 2020 (on paper at least).

Who Else Was Mentioned?

During the conversation of a Friend's recast (with younger actors), Kevin Nealon mentioned Jonah Hill as Ross. Hill has starred in many comedy's including Superbad, 21 Jump Street, as well as some more serious roles like Moneyball, and The Wolf of Wall Street. Cox sort of agreed with Nealson before they continue talking about the impact that Friends had on everything.

This leads into the discussion of the HBO reunion that will be happening very soon. Find out where to watch it here.

The 'Friends' Reunion

The Friends reunion special will premiere on HBO Max. It will not be a remake, or a reboot, but rather a discussion of the show, and where the cast is now. The reunion will include all of the original cast: Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Lisa Kudrow.

The whole gang is reportedly getting paid big for the reunion special, sources say somewhere in the $2-3 Million range for the appearances. Fans will surely be tuning in to see where the cast is now.
