#1. READ OR WRITE A BOOK

We all have them. A shelf or Kindle full of books that we’ve been hoarding for months and haven’t had a chance to read them. Well, now is the time! While you’re cooped up inside your home, challenge yourself to read a certain number of books during this time to keep your mind busy and allow yourself to escape.

For those who have been dying to write a book, pull out that notebook with all those story ideas, grab that laptop and get to writing that masterpiece you’ve been sitting on!

#2. DISCOVER NEW ARTISTS AND MAKE A GREAT PLAYLIST

It’s time to put those Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Red and Tidal subscriptions to good use! As new artists emerge every day, take an opportunity to deep dive into these music platforms to find some new artists to follow and support.

Whether its some old music from one of your favorite artist you didn’t know existed—or an underground artist in the same genre—there is a plethora of untapped music you can add to an established playlist or a new playlist you can create.

#3. CROSS OFF THOSE HOME REPAIRS

Is there something around the house you need to attend to but haven’t had the time for? Maybe an old quilt that needs to be finished, or a room that needs to be painted?

This is the perfect time to get it done. While sequestered inside your home due to job and school closings, setting some time aside to finish home repairs could easily give you a sense of accomplishment. Maybe you can even tune into a HGTV show to find new DIY projects for your home.

Not to mention, it would give those kids at home something to do while elevating that list from piling up even more.

#5. CATCH UP ON THOSE NETFLIX AND HULU SHOWS

We’ve all hit the add to my list option on multiple shows on our Netflix and Hulu accounts. At this very moment, you’re probably adding more shows to watch despite the ten or more you already have pending. Well, now is the time to put those comfy clothes, grab those snacks and bury yourself in that couch. Pick up the remote and roll through those new shows you’ve blocked off.

Better yet, why not catch up on those shows you’re already committed too and simply relax.

#6. LEARN A NEW TRADE OR FIND A NEW HOBBY

Salsa dancing, pottery, a painting class, or soap making… any of these activities sound familiar? I’m sure they do since they’re on that bucket list of things you’ve been dying to do.

Thanks to the public bans you have plenty of time to do them. In between the home-schooling and work breaks, be sure to find some time to unwind with a new hobby to help you relax or maybe even a new trade as another means of income.

Who knows, your next big break may surface amid this outbreak quarantine!
