Gigi Hadid fully admitted that it felt like a “strange time to post about work” today – the 24-year-old supermodel was likely referring to the novel coronavirus now seeing millions staying at home. Nonetheless, the elder sister to Bella Hadid felt that it was a “good time to share” her latest achievement.
Gigi is fronting Harper’s Bazaar‘s latest issue, and her feature came with both stunning photos and a very unusual interview setup – Gigi was asked questions by major faces including Serena Williams, Taylor Swift, and Kendall Jenner. The model posted it all to Instagram on Monday.
Gigi’s update shared multiple photos. The opening shot saw the star gracing the magazine cover in a two-toned and strapless ballgown with a black headband matching the dress’ lower half. A few swipes to the right then passed the interviews and showed off another look as Gigi posed seated and in a loose, semi-sheer, and white gown.
The third snap upped the ante slightly. Here, Gigi was rocking a tight black skirt in satin, offsetting it with a sheer and billowing white shirt that was sheer bar some opaque polka dots – Gigi posed in profile here before wrapping up with futher monochrome looks.
Gigi took to her caption to share more.
“It feels a strange time to post about work, but feels like a good time to share gratitude- to @glendabailey, thank you for all the beautiful @harpersbazaarus moments you have blessed my life with. It is an honor to be on your final cover- we love you and wish you all the best in life’s new adventures !!!” she wrote, adding:
“To my amazing friends @serenawilliams @taylorswift @kendalljenner @virgilabloh @jimmyfallon @antoni @blakelively @spaceykacey THANK YOU for taking your time to ask questions I LOVED ANSWERING for this interview. Love [and washing your hands] makes the world go round. Work from home, FT your friends. Take care ??”
Gigi is a known burger lover, having chowed down on the snack as she sat on Jimmy Fallon’s show back in 2017. Clearly, the talk show host wanted to revisit the model’s notorious burger love.
Fallon asked Hadid what her favorite recent burger was.
“I got to go back to L.A. for the Tom Ford show this past fashion week, and as a California kid, I will always have a huge place in my heart for In-N-Out’s Double-Double Animal Style. But since you and I always talk NYC burgers, I just tried Hall on West 20th Street. It’s the cutest little place. First come, first served. Simple but great burger and fries. And you get a yuzu lemonade with the lunch special—all for $12!” Gigi replied.
Singer Taylor Swift‘s question came with flattery, but her query addressed an unusual point.
“I’m seriously impressed that whenever you are in an immediate or stressful situation you fly into action. Is that something that’s always been natural for you?” the “ME!” singer asked.
Gigi replied: “I’ve realized over time that I feel the most free when I express myself, whether through action, writing, or talking it out. Being honest always leads to something good, even if it takes a hard or awkward moment or conversation to get there; you can never go wrong with telling someone how you feel and speaking your truth. And you always learn something from it.”
Gigi’s update managed to rack up over 197,000 likes in just 20 minutes. For more from Gigi, check out her Instagram.
