Being The Bachelor isn’t the easiest job in the world, however there are always some who become downright hated by viewers. Usually, if history is anything to go by, the most hated Bachelors are those who change their minds about their pick after the season finishes.
In recent memory, there was Arie Luyendyk Jr. who chose Becca Kufrin and proposed to her on the season finale. He later broke up with Becca (on camera) and went back to his runner up Lauren Burnham. The couple are now married, and have a daughter together, while Becca went on to become The Bachelorette and got engaged to Garrett Yrigoyen.
Peter Weber followed suit, when he broke up with his final choice, Hannah Ann Sluss and went back to his runner-up Madison Prewett. However, things were a bit different being that Madison actually left Peter before the season finale, something he neglected to tell Hannah Ann when he proposed to her.
Of course, that’s not the only reason Peter is considered one of the worst Bachelor leads ever. Not only did he change his mind after filming, but he was completely indecisive the entire season.
He catered to the drama throughout the season, becoming seemingly enamored with every girl who cried tears, and created toxic energy within the house.
Alayah Benevidez was sent home by Peter after multiple women complained about her not being genuine. However, Peter later brought her back, only to send her home again. The women felt completely disrespected, and let Peter know it.
Former Bachelorette Becca Kufrin felt Peter was ‘condoning the drama,’ She told Us Weekly, “I’m like, ‘Why are you doing this? Why are you letting her come back? Or why are you just condoning the drama and allowing it to happen, it’s difficult to watch right now.”
Hannah Ann Sluss appeared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, and criticized Peter for his decision making skills.
She said, “If you look back on this season, you see Peter’s pattern of behavior of being consistently indecisive and confused, then I’d be running for the hills. Even if he’s saying he loves you, look at his pattern of behavior. The one consistency he has ever had is being confused, conflicted, and torn.”
Clearly, Hannah Ann has moved on, just as Madison Prewett has after she and Peter announced they were splitting up just a couple of days after the After The Final Rose finale.
Former Bachelor lead Nick Viall defended Peter on Twitter, writing, “I know you all want to be mad at Peter but be gentle. This sh*t is so hard.. and no one can relate.”
He also wrote, “Remember Arie and Becca are both better off now.”
Becca jumped in, agreeing with Nick, writing, “Amen.”
For her part, Hannah Ann Sluss has let the world know she is absolutely done with Peter, telling the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, “If you want to ride that emotional roller coaster with him, go for it. I just got off of it. And it’s a wild ride.”
