Teresa Giudice used her 17 months spent in prison for fraud getting into the best physical condition of her life, and she trained even harder after she got out.
Her husband, Joe Giudice, on the other hand, lost almost 80 pounds as he battled depression behind bars according to Radar Online, and came out with a smaller, almost unrecognizable build.
Teresa, who used to refer to her husband as “Juicy Joe,” did not find his new look appealing, and she will reveal her lack of attraction for her husband – with whom she decided to split from during a reunion trip to Italy – during part three, the last reunion special, of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” as seen in a preview of the upcoming show.
According to the preview, when asked by “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” host – and the host of the “Housewives” reunions – if she was still attracted to her husband, she answers succinctly, “No.”
She also says that the two – who had been apart for four years as Joe Giucide served his own sentence for fraud then spent time in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility before being deported to Italy – did not have sex while she and her daughters visited him overseas.
After her release from prison, Teresa Giudice competed in the NPC South Jersey Bodybuilding Championships in Medford, New Jersey, wearing a sparkling purple, barely-there bikini, and took third place in the competition.
It was something she had always wanted to do, but Joe had previously discouraged it.
“Joe always said to me, ‘You’re not doing that,'” she told her trainer during an episode of “RHONJ” several years ago. “It’s another year ’til he comes home so I was just like, ‘I’m just doing it, I don’t care what he says.'”
As it turns out, Teresa didn’t have to worry about Joe Giudice’s reaction to her bodybuilding competition.
“I’ve been on the fence whether or not I should tell Joe that I’m doing this bikini competition. I never know how he’s going to react to things, but then a week ago, I did tell him about it. And he just said, ‘I hope you win!'” Teresa said on the episode of “RHONJ.”
Joe Giudice, however, was not inspired to follow in his wife’s athletic footsteps.
After arriving at his first prison, Fort Dix Correctional Institution, drunk enough to be transferred to maximum security, Giudice was eventually moved to Clinton County Correctional Facility in McElhattan, Pennsylvania, and he told friends he was living in “horrible conditions like a dungeon,” which did not inspire him to better himself.
He said in an Instagram post that he knew his marriage had come to an end when his wife refused to sleep with him. “That was my moment of insight,” he wrote on the social media platform.
